Our Philosophy
The Media Center Department is dedicated to designing and maintaining a student-centered library media program that supports the school’s curriculum. The media center provides access to a variety of materials and resources that are selected to meet the varying needs of all learners in all aspects of the school’s curriculum. The media center strives to provide an environment that is conducive to learning and which promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving; stimulates intellectual curiosity; encourages reading for pleasure; and promotes life-long learning. The media center also strives to integrate information literacy skills into the academic program through both formal and informal instruction and works toward incorporating 21st century skills and technology into the school’s curriculum through collaboration with the faculty and staff.

The Forty Books Challenge
The 40 Books Challenge is back!  Our goal is for all of our students to read at least forty books during their four years at Assumption.  The students will be logging their reading using our Student SharePoint page and will have the chance to win prizes along the way again this year. Be sure to stop by the Media Center to pick up a new book. We can’t wait to see what YOU choose to read this year!
