KEEPVID
Use this online tool to download and save videos from YouTube. Of course, keep in mind copyright permissions when doing so.

KHAN ACADEMY
This website provides access to all kinds of wonderful videos on a variety of topics. It’s easy to search and use. There are also practice activities to accompany the videos.

LIBRARY OF CONGRESS TEACHER INSTITUTE
The Library of Congress offers excellent one week long professional development opportunities for teachers.

LIST OF LISTSERVS
If you have ever wondered where to find a listserv and how to sign up, this website has a nice list of Kentucky listservs for educators. These groups offer teachers the chance to communicate with professionals in their subject area from all around the state!

MIND SHIFT
This website has a wealth of information about education and learning. Topics include culture, tech tools, research, and learning methods.

MIT OPEN COURSEWARE
This website offers free materials from MIT that are most useful for high school students and teachers.

PBS LEARNINGMEDIA
This website offers free access to “classroom ready, curriculum-targeted, multi-platform digital resources.” 

PECHAKUCHA
This website shows you the art of how to make a pechakucha.  This is a great alternative to PowerPoint for your students.  Your students will research a narrow topic and talk about it using images, for 20 seconds per image.  Students have to know the material and cannot read from the screen or index cards. 

PLINKERS
Use this tool to do a quick assessment with your students.  Ask a multiple-choice question and each student holds up a code card, specific to that student, to answer.  Use your tablet pc or phone to scan the room and the answers will be compiled immediately for a very quick gage on whether the students understand or not. 

POLLEV.COM
This online tool allows you to create questions and then poll your audience/class throughout a presentation. The audience or class can see the results if you choose. 

READWRITETHINK.ORG
This website offers a variety of graphic organizers, along with other tools, to use with your students while researching or working on any type of writing assignment.

REWORDIFY
Use this website to copy and paste difficult text to be translated into a simpler version.  You can then use the new version to teach the more difficult vocabulary or simply use it as an accommodation for students who may speak English as their second language. 

SCREENCAST-O-MATIC
Use this online tool to record your voice and screen for a flipped classroom.  Videos up to 15 minutes long are free.

SMART EXCHANGE
This website offers lesson ideas that incorporate the use of SMART software for a range of academic areas.

TED ED
“TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, but it is very similar to Khan Academy.  Use TED ed to help you “flip” your classroom.  Browse by subject, series, or best flips.  Each video contains a “watch” (the video), a “think” (short answer), and “dig deeper” (questions and resources). 

TINKERCAD
Bring 3D design and 3D printing to your classroom using this online tool.

WEBQUESTS
This page will tell you everything you need to know about making a webquest and offers links to various resources you can use to create a webquest. (I recommend Zunal or QuestGarden.)
