Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today, we are sending out a special “early” edition of the Rocket Report. The Rocket Report is sent each Friday afternoon during the school year with the exception of those Fridays which are school holidays. This is our primary method of regular communication with our families, and we hope this weekly report keeps everyone informed of important information. Please check your email each Friday and let us know if your email address changes so that we have accurate contact information. In case you miss it or want to look back at a previous issue, the Rocket Report is always available on our website, www.ahsrockets.org, under the parent link. The administration, faculty, and staff are excited to begin another new year with you!
HEALTHY AT SCHOOL REMINDERS:
- COVID-19 MASK POLICY: As mentioned in the special message emailed on Friday afternoon, masks will be required for all persons while indoors in all classroom and non-classroom settings unless otherwise exempted (e.g., cannot wear a mask due to disability) regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status beginning on Monday, August 9. We will evaluate our mask requirement monthly. Masks may be removed while actively eating and drinking and are not required when outdoors. Masks are required while riding the AHS bus or AHS vans.
- COVID-19 VACCINATION: We strongly recommend that students get vaccinated. While the COVID vaccine is not mandatory, we are encouraging students to be vaccinated not just to avoid the possibility of catching and spreading COVID but also to avoid the real risk of frequent quarantines. If your daughter has been fully vaccinated, please submit a copy of her vaccination card which will avoid delays with trying to obtain this information from the health department. Please scan or taking a photo of her vaccination card and send it to attendance@ahsrockets.org.
- COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: A full listing of COVID protocols for this school year is linked here: https://www.ahsrockets.org/covid-19-healthy-at-ahs/. These can change at any time depending on the course of the virus.

TRAFFIC FLOW REMINDERS: Please be sure to review this link for detailed information about the proper way to drop off/pick up your daughter to and from school: CARPOOL AND TRAFFIC FLOW INFORMATION & MAP. If everyone follows the rules, everything runs much more smoothly! Important Note: vehicles may not queue on the paved shoulder along Bardstown Road in front of AHS. Per our new binding elements with the Planning and Zoning Commission, the shoulder is not to be used as a turning lane nor as a waiting area for vehicles prior to entering the carpool lane on campus.
PARENTS OF SENIORS AND JUNIORS WHO WILL BE DRIVING TO SCHOOL: Please make sure your daughter reviews the specific directions about how to access her on-campus parking spot provided with her parking tag. In order to alleviate traffic congestion on Bardstown Road, students who park on the main campus may not enter from Bardstown Road in the morning. All student drivers will enter from Tyler Lane by following their specific directions, even those who are parking in the St. Raphael lot.
FLIK LUNCH ACCOUNTS: If your daughter plans to buy lunch at school beginning on Friday, August 13, then please be sure to review these links: FLIK MEAL PLAN INFORMATION and FLIK LUNCH MENU. MySchoolBucks, the company that handles the Flik online deposits, is accepting online payments now at www.myschoolbucks.com. All of the balances that were left from last year have been carried over to the new school year. Please sign up on the website to get low balance emails. If you plan to write a check for your daughter’s lunch account, please be sure to make the check payable to FLIK and to include your daughter’s name and ID number in the memo line, especially if your last name is different than your daughter’s. Your daughter can drop off the check in main office or the cafeteria drop box during school hours. Thanks for your help with this!
FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER APPLIED DIGITAL LEARNING CLASS: A reminder to our parents/guardians of freshmen and transfers: the first three assignments for the Applied Digital Skills technology course are due this Wednesday, August 11.
Sincerely,
Martha Tedesco
