Congratulations to our 2021 graduates who have been awarded over $33 million in scholarships in addition to $1.56 million over four years in the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship program. The seniors also completed 3,766 hours of service to the community during their senior year and 24,016 total hours of service during their high school career. Additionally, they earned 3,083 college credit hours. We are proud of the Class of 2021 and look forward to their graduation tomorrow!
A very special thank you this week to our APO (Assumption Parent Organization) parent representatives who planned a fun-filled Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week. We fully enjoyed the breakfast muffins, delicious lunch, and MANY door prizes! Many thanks to ALL parents who provided their time and/or door prizes. We really appreciate everyone who helped to make this day special. We are so grateful!
COVID NUMBERS: As we did last semester, Assumption will report our number of COVID positive cases and quarantines for any individuals associated with our school on a weekly basis in the Rocket Report. As of yesterday, Assumption had the following reported cases or quarantines this week: (5/7; 5/10; 5/11; 5/12 and 5/13).
- 1 new positive COVID-19 case
- 0 new quarantine cases
- 42 total positive COVID-19 cases as reported to our local department of health as of January 5, the start of this semester (38 students and 4 faculty/staff)
In addition, we continue to have no known transmissions of COVID here at AHS. As a reminder to our parents, Assumption is required to report positive cases and quarantines of all individuals associated with our school to the State of Kentucky, our local health department as well as the Archdiocese of Louisville.
There’s been more good news related to COVID this week. First and foremost, the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for those as young as 12. That opens the door for all of our students to be vaccinated. Getting back to “normal” is on the top of everyone’s mind especially for the next school year. As you know, our faculty and staff are vaccinated. Getting our student body vaccinated is the next step for us to return to normal in the fall. In that vein, we are working to host a vaccine clinic here at Assumption in the next few weeks to make it easy for our students to get vaccinated. Stay tuned for more details as we will be offering incentives for those AHS students who come out and get their shot.
In addition to news about vaccines, just yesterday the state relaxed the requirement to wear a face mask for those who are fully vaccinated. However, this does not apply to schools. Specifically, anyone in a K-12 setting, including employees, staff, students, and visitors must wear a face mask regardless of vaccine status. You can view the entire executive order here.
We are inching ever closer to the end of this pandemic. Let’s all continue to do our part so we can finish this school year safely!

If they would like to purchase their computer for $5.00, they need to tell us that when they bring it to the Boeckmann Lab. We do not need their charger, pen, or case, only the laptop. Donated uniforms and spirit wear may be dropped off to the main office. We ask that you please launder any donated items and bring the items in bags that are tied or sealed.
