President and the Principal, Mary Lang and Martha Tedesco
This is our final Rocket Report for the 2025-2026 school year as summer vacation begins today for our students. Our school office will be open during the summer months Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. starting Tuesday, May 26 and ending Friday, July 24.
All families enrolled for the 2026-2027 school year will receive a back-to-school email in mid-to-late July with information about the start of school. Please check with the school office if you do not receive the email as there will be important information to complete for the beginning of the school year.
We are grateful for another successful year where our community worked to continue to “live the legacy” of our 70 years in so many ways! Thank you for your support and for sharing your daughter with us. We hope that you and your family enjoy a fun-filled, healthy, and safe summer!

Class of 2026 Graduation
This past Sunday, under the most beautiful skies, the Class of 2026 became graduates of Assumption High School at the historic Louisville Palace, marking a special moment as the first class to walk that stage. Forever a Rocket and forever a Rose, these young women have blossomed into something truly extraordinary. We are so proud of who they are and the light they bring into the world. While we will deeply miss them as students, we are grateful they will always remain part of our Assumption community as alumnae. Congratulations, Class of 2026, remember, you can always come back home.

BLOOD DRIVE at St. John Paul II Parish – May 29: Family and friends of sophomore Kaitlyn Clements, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia, will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive in honor of Kaitlyn on Friday, May 29 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. John Paul II Parish located at 3539 Goldsmith Lane.

PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

TEXTBOOK RETURN: We are continuing our relationship with eCampus for the 2026-2027 school year, and your daughter’s books will be included in her tuition. To be the best steward of these funds, we need to make sure that all books considered RENTAL are returned from this school year. If any of your daughter’s texts were considered a rental, she is receiving an email daily from eCampus with instructions. Please ask your daughter if she received this email and if she has taken the necessary steps. We will not be able to distribute books to your daughter next year until these books are returned or are paid for. Thanks for checking on this with your daughter and for your continued partnership with these materials. To return rental books, please click on this link
or scan the code below.

TEXTBOOKS FOR 2026 – 2027 SCHOOL YEAR: As part of her 2026-2027 tuition, your daughter will receive her textbooks as well as links to any online materials before August 4, 2026. We are very excited to partner again with the Lexington-based eCampus and will send a reminder with more details in a special message this summer.
UNIFORM/SPIRIT WEAR DONATIONS: The Guidance and Counseling department is accepting uniform/spirit wear donations. Do you have any extra uniform pieces or spirit wear around your house? The counseling office uses the donated uniforms for three purposes. The Rocket Parent Network sells donated uniform pieces to raise money for their scholarships. The counselors also use donated uniform pieces to help students in financial need and for whom the replacement of a uniform piece would be cost prohibitive. We also have a lending closet in the counseling office for students who happen to forget a skirt or uniform piece. We are able to help these students by lending them a uniform item for a day. Donated uniforms may be dropped off in the counseling office anytime. You may want to mark your calendar now for our upcoming Rocket Parent Network Annual Used Uniform Sale, which will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the cafeteria. Most items are $10 and under. Come by and shop the bargains!
SHAHEEN’S JUNE UNIFORM SALE: Shaheen’s annual Summer Uniform Sale runs from June 1 through June 30. Families can receive 10% off all uniform purchases in-store or online using the code SAVE10. We encourage families to shop early, especially if your daughter has grown over the past year. Please also take a moment to check skirt length to ensure it meets school dress code expectations for the 2026–2027 school year.
Parents of rising sophomores: Students participating in ACTS next year may choose to wear either:
- Leggings under their uniform skirt, or
- ACTS uniform pants
The summer sale is a great opportunity to purchase these items and more before the school year begins. A neat and appropriate uniform helps students take pride in themselves and in our school community. Thank you for your partnership and support in preparing for a successful 2026–2027 school year.

FINAL REPORT CARDS: Final report cards for the 2025-2026 school year will be emailed no later than June 5.
SUMMER READING: Students received their summer reading requirements in English classes this week. These requirements can also be found on the website under “Current Parents” and through this link: SUMMER READING 2026. Summer reading is an important component of the English curriculum, and the books read in the summer will be incorporated into the first unit of study in your daughter’s English class next school year. Students will need to purchase or borrow their own copy of the summer reading book. If a student borrows a copy from the library, please be sure to check it out so that she will have access to it at the beginning of the school year. PLEASE NOTE: If a student decides to make any schedule changes over the summer that result in a change in academic level for English, she is required to read the book assigned for that level, which may be a different book and/or a different assignment. She will need to find the correct summer reading assignment on the website.
SUMMER FIRST AID/CPR/AED COURSE FOR STUDENTS: Our very own Assumption Health and PE teachers, Lindsey Peetz and Andrea Snyder, are very excited to host Assumption’s FIRST EVER One-Day First Aid/CPR/AED course THIS SUMMER! They are certified instructors by the American Red Cross and will teach all basic skills in first aid and CPR. Our one-day course is eligible for eighth-twelfth graders who want to learn lifesaving techniques that they can use at school, sports, work, or home. This will be incredibly valued by employers, colleges, internships, and volunteer programs! NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE is needed, just a willingness to learn and lead to make a difference when it matters most. Students who successfully complete the course will receive an official first aid, CPR, and AED certification, valid for two years, from the American Red Cross recognized nationwide. Click on this link to see dates offered and how to sign up: https://www.ahsrockets.org/first-aid-cpr-aed-certification-course/
ROCKET NIGHT AT THE BATS: Kick off your summer with a night of baseball and family fun with the Louisville Bats. The annual Rocket Night at the Bats, sponsored by the AHS Alumnae Association, is being held on Thursday, June 11 at 6:35 p.m., at Louisville Slugger Field. All alumnae, families, and friends are invited and can enjoy food and drink specials while also celebrating their Rocket Pride! Plus, a portion of every ticket sold will be donated back to AHS in support of tuition assistance. Get your ticket here. For more information, contact Anna White.
ASSUMPTION PARENT ORGANIZATION (APO) NEWS:
- Call for Class Representatives: Are you interested in getting more involved in the APO? We are looking for class representatives for the 2026-2027 school year, especially for the classes of 2029 and 2030. It is a great way to meet other parents, get to know the parents in your daughter’s class, and help in various ways throughout the year. For more information, please contact Kelly Doyle (APO President) at APO@ahsrockets.org

GRADUATION PHOTO REMINDER: A formal picture was taken of each senior with her diploma and a rose by M. Haas Photography. You should receive a text message with a link for your daughter’s photos the week after graduation; however, you will be able to access photos to ALL senior events for purchase at https://mhaasphoto.gotphoto.com/jobs/ahs-athletics-event-photos-2025-26. Packages start as low as $27 and will be mailed home directly. Please email michelle.hutchins@ahsrockets.org should you have any questions.
SENIOR TRANSCRIPTS: Final transcripts will be sent to your daughter’s college or university (and NCAA, if applicable) in mid-June. This is the university that she indicated on her final transcript request form she completed earlier this week during graduation practice. She may start to receive reminders from her university. She does not have to contact the guidance office regarding those reminders unless she needs to change the university she listed on her final transcript form. If a senior has earned college credit through a DC class, instructions for requesting those transcripts have been emailed to the senior.

SPRING ACT SCORES UPDATE: ACT has notified schools of a national scoring review affecting some students who took the online ACT during school-day testing this spring. Families of juniors who tested in March should have students check their MyACT accounts over the summer for any updated scores; affected scores will either remain the same or increase.
SENIOR PORTRAITS: On Monday of this week, the junior class received information regarding an exciting event we will host on campus prior to the beginning of next year called Senior Media Day with M. Haas Photography. This will allow seniors to come to campus to get their official senior drape photo taken. This week, you received an email with the details of Senior Media Day, which will include a link to sign up for a time slot. Please save the date for Thursday, July 23 so your daughter can plan to be here. If your daughter can’t make that day, there will be alternative options for getting her senior portrait taken prior to school starting in August.
COLLEGE ADVISING DATES FOR JUNIORS: Leigh Jackson and Kimberly Habich, college counselors, will be available on several dates at the end of May to meet with current juniors (our rising seniors) and their parents to discuss the college application process. Mrs. Jackson, who works with the first part of the alphabet (A-L), will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22 – Friday, May 29. Mrs. Habich, who works with the latter part of the alphabet (L-Z), will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22 – Friday, May 29. Please contact via email to set up an appointment – LEIGH JACKSON or KIMBERLY HABICH.

JUNIOR ACTS SERVICE HOURS: All juniors are required to complete 15 hours of service at an agency that addresses a justice issue and/or works with a marginalized population. All students were given the details of this requirement in their theology classes as well as a list of approved agencies. They are encouraged to complete or begin this service over the summer. Before they begin serving, they will need to complete an online commitment form that requires a parent’s/guardian’s signature. If you have any questions, please reach out to the service-learning director, Katie Culver (katie.culver@ahsrockets.org)

PHYSICALS: A reminder to all parents of Assumption athletes: It is required by the KHSAA that your daughter have a current physical on file with the athletic office before she may participate in tryouts or practice of any kind. This physical must be submitted on the KHSAA physical form. Fall sports tryouts begin July 15. Please call and make a doctor’s appointment today with your daughter’s primary care physician.
