President and the Principal, Mary Lang and Martha Tedesco
Congratulations to our 2026 graduates who have earned over $29 million in scholarships and $338,000 from the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship program (KEES) and will receive over $1.3 million in KEES scholarship money in college. The seniors also completed 4,526 hours of service to the community during their senior year and over 26,959 total hours of service during their high school career. Additionally, they earned 3,722 college credit hours through AP and Dual Credit courses.
On Wednesday night at the Senior Honors Assembly, there were three very special awards given to seniors by the community of Assumption. Congratulations to the following young women for receiving these honors for their excellence! Norah Everette ’26, who received the Catherine McAuley Christian Leadership Award, which is the highest honor awarded to a graduate of Assumption! Norah consistently demonstrates her commitment to faith, compassion, integrity, and excellence. She is a servant leader who embraces and honors the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy and embodies Mercy values and charism. Ashlinn James ’26, who received the Rocket Spirit Award for exhibiting the most school spirit and consistently setting a good example. Agnes Boyer ’26, Elise Crump ’26, and Nikita Nair ’26, who all received the Assumption Alumnae Award for best all-around graduates.
We are proud of the Class of 2026 and look forward to their graduation on Sunday!

Class of 2027 Junior Ring Ceremony
This past weekend, the Class of 2027 gathered for their Junior Ring Ceremony, an important Assumption tradition marking their transition into senior leadership. The ceremony featured meaningful reflections from Jennifer Ruckriegel ’00, Class of 2027 Guidance Counselor, who shared insight into the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead. Students also heard from Nikita Nair ’26, Senior Class President; Caroline Marks ’27, Junior Class President; and Rosie Wolfram ’27, next year’s Senior Class President, each offering wisdom, encouragement, and a deep love for this class.
In addition to receiving their rings, students were given letters from members of the senior class—words of encouragement and advice to inspire them to make the most of their final year at Assumption. Each student also received a rose, symbolizing the growth and transformation taking place as they continue becoming the young women they are called to be. We look forward with great excitement to what this class will bring to their senior year and beyond!

END-OF-SEMESTER SCHEDULE: In order to keep a more consistent start time this school year and to have an earlier dismissal, which will help avoid conflicts with St. Raphael on our shared campus, our end-of-year assessment schedule for second semester will again take place from 8:50 –11:40 a.m. each day, and not end at 12:30 p.m. as originally shared in our year-at-a-glance calendar. Our end-of-semester assessments/finals will be held from Monday, May 18 to Thursday, May 21. Before-school supervision will be provided in the cafeteria as usual beginning at 7:15 a.m. each day, and FLIK will be selling a variety of breakfast items from 7:30-8:40 a.m. each day during exams. They will reopen at 10:25 and close at 10:50 each day during exams.
Please note: There will be no after-school supervision in the cafeteria on these days. Please make arrangements for your daughter to be picked up each day after exams by 12:00 p.m. Our building will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 for faculty/staff end-of-year activities so students will not be able to meet with faculty/staff members that afternoon.

Note about AP students: Students who are enrolled in an AP course and took an AP exam during AP testing do not need to report to school during that block. If your daughter has an AP exam on the same day as her study and she does not plan on coming to study, please call and report her absent from study so we know not to expect her.
- An important note about study hall attendance for students who have taken AP exams but are considering a 2026-2027 course change: Please keep in mind that study hall time the week of May 18 is the designated time that Mrs. Fieldhouse and Mrs. Schuhmann have available to assist students with course changes or level changes. If your daughter wants to make a change to her current list of courses for 2026-2027, she should plan on reporting to study hall next week to take care of that important academic matter. If she opts not to, the deans cannot guarantee that they will be able to meet with her to make the change before the end of the school year. If that occurs, she would need to follow the steps on the email that you sent to her on May 14 to make a change.
ABSENCE DURING EXAMS & MAKE-UP EXAMS: A doctor’s note is required to make up any missed exam. Makeup exams will be given on Friday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 204; students need to bring their doctor’s notes in advance or bring them with them on May 22 to be eligible to take a make-up exam.
STUDY GROUP OPPORTUNITIES DURING EXAM WEEK: Students will receive an email from the Achievement Center to RSVP for finals study groups in the Media Center during exam week. Students may also come to study independently during this time. All students MUST RSVP to attend. Snacks will be provided. Study sessions will take place on the following dates before and after school:
Monday, May 18 from 7:40 – 8:40 a.m. and 11:40 – 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 19 from 7:40 – 8:40 a.m. and 11:40 – 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 20 from 7:40 – 8:40 a.m. No afternoon study groups due to faculty luncheon.
Thursday, May 21 from 7:40 – 8:40 a.m.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: The last day of school is Thursday, May 21.

ASSUMPTION HONORS CEREMONY FOLLOW UP: As mentioned last week, the Assumption Honors Ceremony was held last Friday to recognize the accomplishments of our underclasswomen in the areas of academics, service, fine arts, and leadership as well as the contributions of our faculty and staff. An online program highlighting the many achievements recognized is linked here: https://www.ahsrockets.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2026-Assumption-Honors-Ceremony-1.pdf
TEXTBOOK RETURN: We are continuing our relationship with eCampus for the 2026-2027 school year, and your daughter’s books will be included in her tuition. To be the best steward of these funds, we need to make sure that all books considered RENTAL are returned from this school year. If any of your daughter’s texts were considered a rental, she received an email last week. Please ask your daughter if she received this email and if she has taken the necessary steps. We will not be able to distribute books to your daughter next year until these books are returned or are paid for. Thanks for checking on this with your daughter and for your continued partnership with these materials. To return rental books, please click on this link
or scan the code below.

SCHEDULES FOR 2026-2027: Yesterday during Community Time, your daughter received the list of courses for which she has been scheduled for the 2026-2027 school year. Please take a moment to ask your daughter about this list and to review it with her. Students also received an email from the deans of studies on May 14 that provided detailed instructions about steps they should take if they want to discuss an elective or level change for next year. The deans will be available to meet with students during their study hall on Monday, May 18-Thursday, May 21. Course changes can also be made during the drop-add period when students return to school in August. Please note that for any level changes, a signed schedule change form indicating approval from both her current teacher and from a parent/guardian must be submitted. Students interested in a level change should already be in conversation with their teachers. These forms are available in the main office. Of course, Judy Fieldhouse (A–K) and Theresa Schuhmann(L-Z) are always available if you have any questions or concerns.
UNIFORM/SPIRIT WEAR DONATIONS: The Guidance and Counseling department is now accepting uniform/spirit wear donations. Do you have any extra uniform pieces or spirit wear around your house? The counseling office uses the donated uniforms for three purposes. The Rocket Parent Network sells donated uniform pieces to raise money for their scholarships. The counselors also use donated uniform pieces to help students in financial need and for whom the replacement of a uniform piece would be cost prohibitive. We also have a lending closet in the counseling office for students who happen to forget a skirt or uniform piece. We are able to help these students by lending them a uniform item for a day. Donated uniforms may be dropped off in the counseling office anytime. You may want to mark your calendar now for our upcoming Rocket Parent Network Annual Used Uniform Sale, which will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the cafeteria. Most items are $10 and under. Come by and shop the bargains!
HP LAPTOP INFORMATION FOR CURRENT FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, AND JUNIORS: All students must return their HP Elite laptop on the last day of school, Thursday, May 21, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria unless otherwise specified with IT department. Before returning devices, students should back up all files to OneDrive, as all laptops will be wiped clean. Laptop pick up for next school year will take place in room 120 from July 13–24 for rising seniors and July 20–24 for sophomores and juniors, or if you cannot make these dates, you must wait until the first day of school. Students must bring their case and be current on tuition.
FINAL REPORT CARDS: Final report cards for the 2025-2026 school year will be emailed no later than June 5.
SUMMER READING: Students received their summer reading requirements in English classes this week. These requirements can also be found on the website under “Current Parents” and through this link: SUMMER READING 2026. Summer reading is an important component of the English curriculum, and the books read in the summer will be incorporated into the first unit of study in your daughter’s English class next school year. Students will need to purchase or borrow their own copy of the summer reading book. If a student borrows a copy from the library, please be sure to check it out so that she will have access to it at the beginning of the school year. PLEASE NOTE: If a student decides to make any schedule changes over the summer that result in a change in academic level for English, she is required to read the book assigned for that level, which may be a different book and/or a different assignment. She will need to find the correct summer reading assignment on the website.
