April 17, 2026

This year at Assumption, we have watched our girls lead with confidence, grow with purpose, and live out The Assumption Advantage in powerful ways, where faith guides, compassion inspires, integrity matters, and excellence empowers. From classrooms to campuses, service projects to leadership opportunities, the impact of this work is felt every day, by our students, our families, and the greater Louisville community.

That is why we are honored to once again be nominated for the Courier‑Journal’s Best of the Best. With your support, Assumption has proudly earned this recognition four years in a row, and together we have the opportunity to make it five. Your vote helps amplify what we know to be true: Assumption is Louisville’s BEST private high school for girls, forming young women who are confident, compassionate, and ready to lead the world beyond our doors.

Vote once a day from now until Thursday, April 30!

Safety with Purpose at Assumption

Did you know that Assumption has two American Red Cross–certified instructors on campus? Our Health & Physical Education teachers are fully certified to provide First Aid, CPR, and AED training, helping ensure our community is prepared, confident, and safe.

This summer, we’re excited to extend that opportunity to students as well! Assumption will host multiple one‑day First Aid, CPR & AED Certification Camps open to students in grades 8–12 (girls and boys). This hands‑on course equips students with life‑saving skills they can use at school, athletics, work, babysitting, or at home, while earning an official American Red Cross certification recognized nationwide.

It’s a meaningful way for students to build confidence, leadership, and real‑world readiness. It’s just one more example of the Assumption Advantage in action.

ROSE THEATRE COMPANY’S SPRING PLAY – JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH: Rose Theatre Company is excited to present this spring’s play, James and the Giant Peach! This fast-paced, imaginative adaptation follows James Henry Trotter as he escapes his miserable life inside a magical, oversized peach and embarks on a daring journey filled with humor, heart, and unexpected friends. Along the way, he faces danger with courage and cleverness—guided by lively narrators and invitations to the audience to join the fun. With its playful storytelling and interactive moments, this production is especially welcoming for families and younger audience members—though there’s plenty for all ages to enjoy! Performance dates: Saturday, April 18 and Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 19, Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets: CUR8 – James and the Giant Peach Details

SENIOR CELEBRATION DAY: On Thursday, April 23, the Class of 2026 will participate in Senior Celebration Day.  Seniors will report to school by 8:50 a.m. as usual but may wear shorts and Senior Celebration Day team color t-shirts.  The senior class will spend the day participating in a mind, body, and spirit field day, which will culminate with a class picture and class cookout in the courtyard. Seniors will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Graduation tickets will be distributed at the end of the Celebration Day.

Students may purchase tickets during lunches in the cafeteria beginning Monday, April 20; tickets are $10.00.  Assumption, Sacred Heart, St. X, and Trinity each receive a ticket allotment to sell to their communities. We are encouraging students to arrange with their family and friends at St. X, Trinity, and Sacred Heart to buy their tickets at their own schools.  To ensure that all students have the opportunity to buy a ticket from Assumption’s allotted tickets, on Monday, April 20, each student may buy only one ticket for herself.   For the remainder of the week, students may buy a maximum of two tickets per day.  Tickets will be sold to students only.  There will be no outside sales.  Please note: All schools have agreed that there will be no tailgating at this event, and we highly encourage carpooling to the game!

PARENT PRAYER – PINK & WHITE EDITION: Each year before the Pink & White Game, the parents of Catholic high school students come together for a joint prayer service.  All parents are invited to this year’s Pink & White Parent Prayer on Thursday, April 24, at 8:30 a.m. at Assumption High School. For those who usually come to our own AHS Parent Prayer on Tuesdays, please be aware that we will NOT meet on April 22 since the special service is on April 24.T o help us avoid morning carpool and student parking congestion, we ask that you plan to arrive after 8:10 a.m. Please enter campus from Tyler Lane near the main entrance, where AHS staff will be on hand to guide you to parking.

PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

We look forward to many engagement events at Assumption next week including PINK WEEK, leading up to a celebration of our Spring Sports and in anticipation of the 19th annual Pink and White game.  Students are invited to wear pink spirit wear on Monday to kick off this week of celebration and in honor of our continued commitment to supporting the work of Norton Healthcare Breast Health Program and Gilda’s Club of Kentucky. Students can continue this celebration throughout the week by donning pink accessories with their school uniform on Tuesday (headbands, hair clip-ins, socks, etc.) and Pink & White t-shirts (from this year or past years) with uniform skirts or pants on Wednesday of next week.  On Thursday, we invite all students to preview their Pink & White game attire by wearing their most spirited pink outfit (no costumes/face/hair paint).  On Friday, to conclude the week, students may wear spirit wear in their class colors (freshmen-green, sophomores-blue, juniors-yellow, seniors-pink) to showcase their class pride for the pep rally.  Spring athletes may wear their athletic jerseys instead. We look forward to a week FULL of school and class pride while honoring a tradition that has left a lasting legacy on our community.
