MAY 13, 2022

Yesterday we celebrated the last day of classes for our senior class with our traditional Senior Walk Out. The “walk out” has always been the faculty and staff’s way to celebrate, thank, and say goodbye to the senior class. It was a wonderful day with our seniors who have truly been the “bridge” for our entire community during this unique school year. We are so proud of our “Team 22” seniors who will always be forever young to us.
One new addition to the traditional Senior Walk Out created during the height of the pandemic for the Class of 2020 and 2021 is a special video message from the faculty and staff that was played before the seniors walked out. The video can be viewed here:
Thank you, senior parents, for sharing your daughters with us these past four years. We can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2022 with you next week!

The Celebration of Achievement is an assembly held annually to recognize accomplishments of our underclasswomen in the areas of academics, service, fine arts, and leadership. Affectionately referred to as “The Rosies,” this assembly’s objectives include spotlighting the accomplishments of the current school year, encouraging and challenging students toward goals for the following year, and celebrating our year as a community. The assembly was held this afternoon with a Derby theme of “Run for the Rosies”. We are so proud of the accomplishments of our freshmen, sophomores and juniors this year! An online program highlighting the many achievements recognized today will be available in next week’s Rocket Report.

To keep our families informed of the impact of COVID on our school, we continue reporting our positive COVID cases each week via the Rocket Report.
- This week, (reporting from Friday 5/5 to Thursday 5/12), AHS had 7 new positive COVID cases – 6 students and 1 faculty/staff member.
- Since the start of this semester, AHS has had 234 positive COVID cases. 205 were students and 29 were faculty/staff.
As a reminder, and for the overall health and safety of our entire school community, please do not send your daughter to school if she is experiencing any COVID like symptoms. When in doubt, contact our school nurse, Laura Burnam at 271-2507. That way we can continue to minimize the spread of COVID in our school.

UNIFORM/SPIRIT WEAR DONATIONS: The Guidance and Counseling Department is now accepting uniform/spirit wear donations. Do you have any extra uniform pieces or spirit wear around your house? The Counseling Office uses the donated uniforms for three purposes. The Rocket Parent Network sells donated uniform pieces to raise money for their scholarships. The counselors also use donated uniform pieces to help students in financial need and for whom the replacement of a uniform piece would be cost prohibitive. We also have a lending closet in the Counseling Office for students who happen to forget a skirt or uniform piece. We are able to help these students out by lending them a uniform item for a day. Donated uniforms may be dropped off in the Counseling Office anytime. We sincerely appreciate your consideration and help with this endeavor.
