DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS – Friday, January 15, 2021
Homeroom
Ladies, here are a couple of things you need to know about homeroom: (1) Since we have been meeting in homerooms regularly now on LEAD and Learn days, starting next week, students in the Pink Cohort are no longer required to log in to homeroom via Teams on days 1 and 4. Your homeroom teachers will continue to start Teams meetings and all students who are learning virtually on that day are always welcome to join those attending in-person for homeroom and lunch bonding time. And (2), our non-class days on Wednesdays arenot days off from school like they might be in some other schools. Our LEAD and Learn Days do count as full days of school, and you are required to attend, via Teams, your homeroom meetings where attendance is taken as well as all class meetings and other scheduled activities.
Sweatpants and Sweatshirts
Ladies, now that winter is upon us, please remember that you may NEVER wear sweatpants (or flannels) under your uniform skirts at school. If you are worried about being cold, you should wear tights or leggings (or uniform pants). When the faculty and staff agreed to allow students to wear leggings this year, the agreement included never giving students permission to wear sweatpants, even in areas that are uncomfortably cold at times. Also, since seniors can wear senior sweatshirts and all students can wear a quarter-zip uniform sweatshirt, there should be no need for a student to wear a non-AHS sweatshirt with her uniform. Please consult the student/parent handbook for all the details about wearing tights and leggings and sweatshirts.
