MICROPHONES AND CAMERAS ON
Please remember that when you are in class or study via Teams both your camera and your microphone must be on the whole time unless your teacher directs you to do otherwise. Your teachers need to be able to hear your voices and see your faces; this helps them know if you are understanding the material. It also allows them to know that you are actually in class and on task. Just like you can’t just get up and walk out of a class when you are attending school in-person, you can’t leave your computer signed in to Teams while you are elsewhere or doing something else. If your teacher calls on your during class and you don’t respond and your camera is not on, you will receive disciplinary consequences for leaving class without permission. If you are having problems with your microphone or camera not working, you must contact Mr. Wallace right away to let him know so he can diagnose and resolve the problem; it would be a good idea to copy your teacher on the email too so they will know you are having a legitimate technology issue. And while we’re talking about cameras being on, please make sure that your camera is angled so that your teachers can see your face and shoulders centered in your screen. They really want to see more than the top of your head and don’t want to feel like they are teaching your ceiling fan.It might help improve your camera angle if you sit your tablet PC on top of something a couple of inches high or put something under your tablet kickstand.
