DIVERSITY CLUB CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
The Diversity Club would like to announce that September 15 starts National Hispanic Heritage Month. This celebration is designed to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Today, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Diversity Club would like to recognize Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer. Born to Puerto Rican parents, Judge Sotomayer is the first Hispanic member of the US Supreme Court. If learning about cultures and celebrating diversity and inclusivity sounds interesting to you, look for upcoming information about how to join the Diversity Club or see seniors Chayla Williams and Tiya Mansfield or e-mail Mrs. Deweese.
DETENTION STARTS TOMORROW
Just a reminder that detention will be held tomorrow for the first time this year. If you have already received a detention or you get one today, you will need to serve it tomorrow on Microsoft Teams. Detentions will be issued to students via email. If you receive an email from a teacher telling you have received a detention, Mrs. Dusch, the assistant to the deans, will then contact you to schedule your 30-minute detention from 7:30-8 a.m. OR between 3 and 4 p.m.. Failure to serve a detention as scheduled will result in a demerit being issued and being late to detention will result in one additional detention being issued.
