DETENTION INFORMATION
Attention all students: We will begin holding detention this week, but we will be doing it differently than in the past due to COVID-19. Detention will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams on Wednesdays from 7:30-8 a.m. and from 3-4 p.m. Detentions will continue to be 30 minutes in length, but this time frame will allow a student to serve multiple detentions if necessary and provide both before school and after school options. Detentions/demerits will be issued to students via email. After a detention/demerit is issued, Mrs. Dusch, the assistant to the deans, will contact the student to schedule the time she is to serve it and add her to the Detention Meeting on Teams for the specific day/time. If you should receive a detention, you are required to serve it the next Wednesday. You will need to check your email for messages from the teacher who issues you the detention and from Mrs. Dusch, who will schedule your meeting in Teams to serve it.
LATE TO CLASS
Ladies, when you are attending virtually, just like when you are in-person, you DO need to be on time for class. You need to be in your classes on Teams and have joined the class meeting by the time the class is scheduled to begin. If you are late to class and your teacher has already taken attendance, you need to email your teacher and let her or him know you have arrived in class; you also need to copy the attendance office at Attendance@ahsrockets.org. If you are having technology issues that are keeping you from getting to class on time via Teams, please email your teacher to let her/him know you are having trouble. If you are having a problem that you can’t resolve quickly, you also need to email Mr. Wallace so he can help you get things fixed. If the problem is so big that you can’t even get your tablet PC to function, please use your phone to email your teacher and Mr. Wallace or have a parent call the attendance office to let us know. If you are late to class and haven’t already let us know that there is a legitimate issue causing you to be late, there will likely be disciplinary consequences.
