Director of Leadership and Engagement, Kristin Walsh
In collaboration with our college counselors and our Advancement Department, The Office of Leadership and Engagement is excited to share a new career development opportunity for our junior and senior students. We recognize the need for our students to be exposed to a variety of career fields, while also considering their own interests and talents. Therefore, we are hosting a Career Pathways & Professional Readiness event during RTI on Monday, March 30 where we have invited a number of local businesses and corporations (29 and counting!) to appeal to our students and share opportunities that might be available for job shadowing or internship experiences as early as this summer for our senior and junior students.
Our goal is to create worthwhile networking opportunities for our students and consider the variety of ways our students can use their talents and explore their interests by learning how different career fields exist in the working world. To prepare for this event, students have spent some time with their homeroom teachers discussing professional decorum in conversation with potential employers, as well as preparing to visit our companies by doing intentional research.
You can support your junior or senior student by looking at the attendee list linked below alongside your daughter and discovering the mission and vision of those that interest her and what qualities they look for in future employees. We are excited about the continued career development to come for all of our students!

Viva Las Vegas!
Our 22nd Annual Senior Citizen Prom was a night to remember, welcoming nearly 200 senior guests for an evening full of music, laughter, and unforgettable dance moves. This cherished tradition is proudly hosted by our Beta Club students, who lead with hearts for service—planning, welcoming, and dancing alongside our guests to create meaningful moments across generations.
A beautiful example of student leadership in action.

JUNIOR PROM SEMIFORMAL DANCE: On Saturday, March 28, the junior class is hosting a juniors-only prom from 8:30-11:00 p.m. Every student and her guest must have a ticket that was purchased in advance. Each student must also present her student ID when entering. Tickets were sold this week during lunches. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Students have received information about dance rules and expectations via an email with a video from Ms. Wesley. To ensure student safety, all students and guests must arrive by 9:00 p.m. and may not leave until 10:30 p.m. All students will be monitored with the use of a passive alcohol sensor upon arrival and departure of the dance.
HOLY WEEK PRAYER SERVICE – Thursday, April 2 – 8:10 arrival schedule: Our Holy Week Prayer Service will take place on Thursday, April 2 at 10:50 a.m. in the CAC/gym. Therefore, we will have an 8:10 arrival schedule this day, instead of 8:50. We will act out and pray the Stations of the Cross as a school community.
SPRING BREAK: Spring break will begin Friday, April 3 since we met our Rocket Raffle ticket sale incentive. School will resume on Monday, April 13.

ASSUMPTION PARENT PRAYER: Parent Prayer will not meet on Wednesday, March 25 as it is a LEAD & Learn Day but will meet the following week, on April 1, from 8:15-8:45 a.m. in the chapel. Please park in any open space and enter the school through the main entrance. We will pray for all juniors on April 1. Please join us for any or all of these opportunities!
PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE IN HONOR OF SOPHOMORE STUDENT: Assumption is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, April 29. This drive will be in honor of sophomore Kaitlyn Clements, who has been battling leukemia since November. As a community, we will be supporting Kaitlyn and raising awareness about the critical need that cancer patients have for blood. Kaitlyn has had 25 blood transfusions so far during her treatment. Student donors must be at least 16 years old. Students who are 16 must have parental permission; students 17 and older may give without parental permission. Student sign-ups will begin soon. We encourage you to talk with your daughter about how to prepare for being a donor if she expresses interest. The Red Cross provides more information for students at this link: Red Cross Student Guide to Blood Donation.pdf.
FINAL CALL FOR KHEAA DUAL CREDIT SCHOLARSHIPS: On Monday, March 30, Mrs. Fieldhouse and Ms. Friedenberg will host the final RTI session for KHEAA dual credit scholarship enrollment. In the past, KHEAA has provided a weekly report listing students enrolled in college credit classes who have not made selections for dual credit or Work Ready scholarships. Students on the last report dated March 25 who were listed as not having made selections have been assigned to Monday’s RTI session. If your student is enrolled in a DC course at Assumption, please sit down with her this weekend and make sure your daughter can see on her KHEAA account that she has selected the correct dual credit or Work Ready scholarship for the correct college/university and for the correct semester. If the correct selections have not been made, parents/guardians will be billed a fee by the college or university at which their daughter is currently earning college credit. If you have any questions, please email Jenny.Friedenberg@ahsrockets.org or Judy.Fieldhouse@ahsrockets.org. You can also find instructions for KHEAA scholarship selections here. If you are unsure which scholarship, college/university, or semester your daughter should have selected, please see information about the DC classes offered at Assumption on page 4 of the course catalog. https://www.ahsrockets.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Course-Catalog-26-27.pdf

TUITION AND REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR: Parents and guardians of current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors should have received an email last week outlining tuition details for the 2026–2027 school year. We will continue using Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM) for registration and tuition payments. In April, BBTM will automatically re-enroll your account for the upcoming school year. Once re-enrollment is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for accessing your 2026–2027 account. If you experience any issues logging in, please contact BBTM directly at 1-888-868-8828 for assistance. If your daughter will not be returning for the 2026–2027 school year, please contact our registrar, Jenny Friedenberg, to complete the withdrawal process and provide authorization for the release of records. For questions about your account or to make changes (such as payment plans or banking information), please contact Shanna Selby at 502-271-2520 or email financedept@ahsrockets.org. Please note: The deadline to make any changes to your 2026–2027 account is June 15, 2026.
ABSENCES BEFORE/AFTER SPRING BREAK: Please note that absences directly before or after Spring Break will count toward semester absence totals. Also, missing the day before or after Spring Break without a medical note will result in an academic penalty of a 50% reduction on assignments missed. If your daughter is sick before or after Spring Break, please submit a medical note to the Attendance Office so that this can be noted on your daughter’s attendance record. Full details about our attendance policies and procedures can be found in the Student-Family Handbook.
FROM THE ADVANCEMENT OFFICE:
- ROCKET MADNESS: We are so grateful to everyone who invested in Rocket Madness last week! Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $15,000 in just five days for our school programs. A special shout-out to the sophomore class for leading the way with over 22% giving. They will receive cupcakes during lunch next Thursday, April 2. If you donated $50 or more, your cosmetic bag will be available for student pick-up during lunch next Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2. Bags not collected will be placed in the main office after Spring Break and must be picked up by April 24. Missed your chance to give? Click here to make your donation today.
- ALUMNAE UNITE: From April 20-22, our alumnae will challenge Bethlehem, Holy Cross, Mercy, Presentation, and Sacred Heart in the annual Alumnae Unite challenge. Much like Rocket Madness, this is all about participation! We are calling on our alumnae to show their Rocket pride and give back to their alma mater. This is one of our biggest competitions of the year. If you have a daughter, sister, or friend who is an AHS alum, please encourage them to help us beat the other schools! Contact Anna White or click here for more information.
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES: Opportunities for the summer have been UPDATED. You can find these on our guidance department page by clicking here: SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES 2026. There are numerous opportunities available with many costing less than $1,000. Programs are grouped according to areas of interest like General/Pre-College, Leadership, STEM, etc. Many applications are due in March and require the assistance of guidance for transcript releases, recommendations, and other documentation. Please contact LEIGH JACKSON or KIM HABICH with any questions.
AHS SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION: We are excited to announce that registration for the 2026 camp schedule is now open! Assumption will be offering nearly 70 stimulating enrichment and athletic summer camps for girls and boys in grades K-12. Click here to learn more. SENIOR PARENT LETTER: An email was sent out on Thursday, March 26 to parents of seniors giving details about senior activities and graduation events that will be occurring in April and May, including a link to the Class of 2026 senior events website page. If you are a senior parent and did not receive this email, please click on this website link to view this important information: Class of 2026 Senior Events Webpage
LETTERS FROM COLLEGES: Attention, senior parents! Please have your senior daughters submit ALL letters received from colleges regarding admissions decisions, scholarship offers, and admission to special programs and honors colleges to the Guidance Office. The majority of colleges DO NOT provide this information directly to high schools, so your daughter is often our only source of information about this. Her timely sharing of this information is vital to the Senior Honors Celebration as we work to make sure we have all the correct information to celebrate your daughter and the Class of 2026. These letters can be hard copies, faxes, or scanned copies and can be emailed directly to COLLEGE.LETTERS@ahsrockets.org. We ask that students submit all of this information by Monday, March 30.
NEGATIVE LUNCH BALANCES: Beginning April 13, as FLIK works to close out the school year with our graduating class, seniors who have a negative FLIK lunch account will not be able to charge their account until the account is made positive.

COLLEGE WORKSHOP for the CLASS OF 2027: The Guidance and Counseling Department is thrilled to offer a College Workshop on Sunday, August 2 for the Class of 2027. Due to the ever-changing landscape of college admission, particularly early college application deadlines, housing deadlines, etc., the college counselors are providing this workshop opportunity for seniors to get started on their application process before school begins. We feel it is imperative that all members of the class of 2027 attend this event to gain a clear understanding of the college process, particularly those details specific to the Assumption process. Our goal and the focus of this workshop is to prepare your student for the many nuances of the college process. The workshop will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. We will begin and end the day in the Performing and Fine Arts Center (theater), and snacks will be provided. Seniors must bring their laptop computer (fully charged) and their water bottle. Please reach out to your college counselor with any questions Leigh Jackson (A-K) & Kim Habich (L-Z) . We look forward to seeing ALL members of the Class of 2027 on August 2.
