Director of Mission Effectiveness, Mary Ann Steutermann
We are so excited about Assumption’s 19th annual Mission Week beginning Monday! It’s four days designed to be a special experience of growth and transformation outside traditional academics. Through a wide array of learning experiences, students are called to reflect upon who they are, who they are becoming, and the potential they each have to make the world a better place. Our Mission Week theme is “Make Your Mark” and will kick off when we gather as a community for Mass at St. Raphael on Monday morning. We invite your participation by holding us all close in prayer as we work to help students learn and grow in innovative ways. Please remember in prayer those traveling for mission work and field trips, those teaching, those serving, those learning, those reflecting, those planning, and those adapting plans. Our parent prayer group will not be meeting this week due to the changed schedule, but we invite you to take some time on Monday to offer this prayer for the week:
Be with us, Merciful God, as we seek to be
Your voice, Your hands, Your love
in the world this week.
Help us be open to growth and new opportunities.
Give us the strength to always be people of Mercy.
Amen.

PEP RALLY & GIRLS THAT ARE FLY
Today we celebrated the success of our winter sports teams with our winter pep rally. The Varsity Club honored AHS basketball, dance, swim & dive, winter track, archery, and aerials. The celebration included performances from our Assumption Dance team and Assumption Cheer team fresh off their national competitions in Orlando, FL, as well as the first all-school performance from seniors on our Rocket Aerials team. We concluded with a favorite tradition among our senior class, the Fly Girls performance. Our Class of 2026 has worked hard since the beginning of December, under the teaching and choreography of our senior Dance team members, to put together a 4+ minute routine that showcases this class’s connection. We are so proud of their hard work, and the outcome shows their unmatched class spirit and bonding! You can view the Fly Girl dance through this link.

MISSION WEEK: Mission Week is Monday, February 23 – Thursday, February 26. We will begin school each morning one hour later at 9:10 a.m. and dismiss each day at 3:00 p.m. We believe that Mission Week activities are so important that we suspend classes for the week; all students are required to attend and participate in the activities scheduled, both on and off campus. All attendance policies apply during Mission Week. If your daughter is ill and unable to participate on a given day, please call the attendance office as usual. If at all possible, please do not schedule medical appointments for your daughter on days when she will be participating in activities off campus. There is no school on Friday, February 27.
BEFORE- AND AFTER-SCHOOL SUPERVISION: During Mission Week, before-school supervision will be provided in the cafeteria as usual beginning at 7:15 a.m. each day. After-school supervision will also be provided each day in the cafeteria until 4:30 p.m. as usual.
BLOOM THEATRE PROJECT: Bringing Life Onstage and Offstage through Ministry (BLOOM) is Assumption’s social justice theatre project and annual student theatre festival. This year’s production, titled “Etched,” will take place on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21, at 7:00 p.m. The project features student-written plays based on the Mission Week theme, “Make Your Mark.” Rose Theatre Company invites you to experience these original works FREE of charge. General admission. No tickets required. If you or anyone in your party requires assistance or handicap accessibility, please contact ANDREW STAIRS.
ROCKET PARENT NETWORK (RPN) SPEAKER PROGRAM: The Rocket Parent Network will host a speaker program on Monday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the AHS cafeteria. The presentation will focus on helping you and your daughters with personal finance advice for teens. We hope that students and parents will attend together to spark conversation about good financial decisions to make as teens. Our speakers will be LeeAnn and John Cunningham. Lee Ann is a 2016 AHS alum, and she and her father work together in the world of finance. This program will also be offered both online and in person. Here is the Zoom link if you would like to attend virtually: LINK TO RPN MEETING ON ZOOM 2.23.26

ASSUMPTION PARENT PRAYER: Due to Mission Week, Parent Prayer will resume and meet on Wednesday, March 4 from 8:15-8:45 a.m. in the chapel. Please park in any open space and enter the school through the main entrance. We will pray for the Limerick freshmen and sophomores. Please join us for any or all of these opportunities!
PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

2026-2027 TENTATIVE SCHOOL CALENDAR: We are in the process of building the 2026-2027 school calendar. Although we have not finalized the calendar, we recognize that our families may need general calendar information in advance. To help with this need, the tentative key calendar dates for 2026-2027 are now posted on our website through this link: Important Tentative Calendar Dates 2026-2027
IMPORTANT UPCOMING STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION: In March, we will be starting the registration process for the 2026-2027 school year. Below is important information:
- TUITION AND ENROLLMENT FEES FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR: This year, we will continue using Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM) for enrollment and tuition. Families received a special message in January asking that the non-refundable $225 enrollment fee be paid by Friday, February 13, 2026. This payment ensures that students may proceed with course selection and be considered for financial assistance or scholarships. Parents or guardians of current freshman, sophomore, or junior students will receive an email in April announcing tuition for the 2026–2027 school year. If your daughter will not be returning for the 2026–2027 school year, please contact our registrar, Jenny Friedenberg. If you have any questions about your tuition account, please contact Shanna Selby.
- CURRENT FRESHMAN PARENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION NIGHT – Save the date! Attention, all freshman parents: On Thursday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. please join Dean of Studies Theresa Schuhmann for an online meeting in which she will provide information about the registration and course selection process for all freshman parents. We highly recommend you take advantage of this important informational session to help your daughters plan their course of study for their sophomore year. A link to the meeting will be available closer to the meeting date.
- PARENT POWERSCHOOL LOG IN FOR 2026-2027 REGISTRATION: We began meeting with freshmen, sophomores, and juniors regarding decision making around next year’s schedule earlier this month, and we will meet with students during Community Time and RTI time during the week of MARCH 2 to prepare for our online registration for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a great time to have a conversation with your daughter about her classes for next year. More detailed information will follow, but please make note that you will need to log into your parent PowerSchool account to register your daughter for classes next year. If you have forgotten your parent username or password for PowerSchool, when you go to the login screen for PowerSchool, just click on the link “Having trouble signing in?” and follow the directions to obtain a forgotten username or forgotten password. Please contact Jenny.Friedenberg@ahsrockets.org or brent.miller@ahsrockets.org if you have trouble logging in!
- 2026-2027 COURSE SELECTIONS: On Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10, our teachers will be conferencing with all current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors regarding their course selections for the 2026-2027 school year. We encourage you to have a conversation regarding course selections for next year prior to March 9 and 10 so that students can have more productive meetings with their teachers. Registration will open after school on March 12.
- 2026-2027 COURSE SELECTIONS & DEADLINES: Your daughter will consult with her teachers for class suggestions, meet with her parents/guardians to log into PowerSchool using the PARENT account, and make careful selections of courses for next year. We ask that she print the selections and bring them to school to obtain teacher signatures and turn in the parent signed course selections no later than Wednesday, March 18.
- IMPORTANT COURSE REGISTRATION DATES IN A NUTSHELL:
- Week of March 2: Community Time and RTI sessions at school to discuss class registration

TORCHPREP ACT SUMMER INTENSIVE CAMP: TorchPrep will offer an ACT Summer Intensive Camp session at AHS from June 8-11, 2026. The ACT will change significantly by September 2025, so this is the last year for your daughter to take the current version. It’s a great opportunity to achieve target scores for college admissions and scholarships. For details and registration, please follow this link: https://torchprep.com/louisville-act-test-prep/. TorchPrep is available to answer your questions and support your college access.

The week of February 23-26 will be our 19th annual award-winning Mission Week. Our school theme this year, “Living the Legacy,” has been perfect for celebrating our 70th anniversary. This year’s Mission Week theme is all about how we create that legacy – “Make Your Mark.” Everything we have planned throughout the week is designed to help students make their mark not only as children of God but also as unique individuals capable of making a difference in the world.
MONDAY PROGRAM: On Monday we will kick off the week with Mass for the whole school. Additionally, the BLOOM (Bringing Life Onstage and Offstage through Ministry) Theatre Project will feature students performing short plays written, directed, and performed by AHS students. Students will also hear our Assumption TED Talk series that will spotlight a handful of students sharing powerful stories about how they have “lived their mission” and participate in a family competition before ending the day in activities that will explore the mark each class will leave.
STUDENT INFORMATION FOR MONDAY: We would like to share information given to students this week about Monday. Please remind your daughter of the following for Monday:
- Students may wear spirit wear as usual.
- Only freshmen need to bring their laptops on Monday. All other students do not need to bring their laptops.
- Students will need to bring a bagged lunch (one that is NOT microwavable) and their own utensils, if needed. Students who forget their lunch can purchase a FLIK sack lunch for $7.00 (options: peanut butter and jelly, turkey and cheese, ham and swiss sandwiches OR crispy buffalo chicken wrap with chips and a cookie)
- Students will be instructed on Monday about attire, lunch, and other details for the remainder of the week for their particular class level.
- Students need to check their email daily during Mission Week for important information from their counselors.

SENIOR YEARBOOK TRIBUTES – DUE TODAY: Over the years, senior parents have developed a tradition of supporting certain activities important to their graduating daughters at Assumption. One of these is helping to underwrite the cost of printing the yearbook by purchasing “Senior Tributes” that contain a message of congratulations and your favorite photos of your graduate. “Senior Tributes” can be a great way to document and celebrate your daughter’s time as an Assumption Rocket. If you are interested in purchasing a “Senior Tribute”, you will find size, pricing information, instructions, and a contract here: 2026 Senior Ad Letter and Contract. The deadline to submit tribute contracts is Friday, February 20. The deadline for ad materials (message and pictures) is Monday, March 2. Please feel free to reach out to Melissa Fette, yearbook adviser, at melissa.fette@ahsrockets.org with any questions. Thank you for your support of the Assumption Rosecast!
