December 19, 2025

President and the Principal, Mary Lang and Martha Tedesco

This is the last Rocket Report of the semester.  On behalf of the faculty and staff, we wish you all a blessed Christmas.

May your celebration of the birth of Jesus this season

Open you to the true joy and lasting peace of Christ.

May what began in a simple manger on that night so long ago

Continue in our hearts every day of the coming year.

Future Rockets on the Launchpad!

After the High School Placement Test, we’re celebrating a very strong Class of 2030 and the bright promise they bring. The Marketing and Admissions department extends a heartfelt thank you to our current families, whose steady support, hospitality, and presence helped these students feel at home at Assumption. Together, we’re welcoming Future Rockets into a community where they can grow, lead, and thrive.

ABSENCE DURING EXAMS & MAKE-UP EXAMS: A doctor’s note is required to make up any missed exam. Makeup exams will be given on Monday, December 22 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 204; students need to bring their doctor’s notes in advance or bring them with them on December 22 to be eligible to take a makeup exam.

CHRISTMAS BREAK: Assumption will be closed for Christmas Break from December 22 – January 2. Classes will resume on Monday, January 5.  The next Rocket Report will be sent on Friday, January 9.

ALL SCHOOL MASS: When we return from Christmas break, we will kick off the new year in the best possible way by celebrating our New Year’s Mass as a school community on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:35 a.m. at St. Raphael. We’ll come together in prayer and sacrament to ask God’s blessings on the new year in a special way.

PARENT PRAYER: Parent Prayer will resume its weekly schedule on Wednesday, January 7 at 8:30 a.m. in the AHS chapel. We will be praying for Kingstown Family freshmen and sophomores.  All are welcome!

PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

ACCREDITATION SURVEY COMING IN JANUARY: Because of Assumption’s commitment to continuous improvement for excellence, we are currently preparing for a Cognia (formerly AdvancEd) accreditation review in March 2026. Over the first two weeks of second semester, we will be surveying students, parents, faculty, and staff.  Please look for a Cognia accreditation survey that will be emailed to you the week of January 5. Our goal is to have each student represented in the parent survey response, so we ask that at least one parent of each student take the survey – more than one is even better!  Thank you, in advance, for helping us shape the future of Assumption High School with your feedback.  We value your input!

SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULES: Hard copies of the second semester schedules will be given to students during homeroom on Monday, January 5. Students will have homeroom scheduled first on this day. Students will need to report to homeroom FIRST when they return to school. Students have already had the opportunity to meet with their deans with any scheduling questions. Drop/Add for second semester elective courses ends on Wednesday, January 14. Any elective schedule change request must be accompanied by a note from a parent and any necessary teacher signatures and recommendations.

SECOND SEMESTER BOOKS: If your daughter needs books for any new second semester courses, they will be delivered to your home by January 5. Please make sure we have the most current mailing address for this purpose. If you need to make a change to your mailing address, please contact our registrar, Jenny.Friedenberg@ahsrockets.org.

FIRST SEMESTER GRADE REPORTS: First semester grade reports will be emailed to parents no later than Monday, January 5.

UNIFORM UPKEEP: Over Christmas break, please take a moment to help your daughter check her uniform.

  • Skirt length should be at least fingertip length.
  • Students may only wear the official AHS uniform sweater or quarter-zip over their uniform shirt. These items should be free of snags or holes.
  • Only black leggings or tights may be worn under skirts.

Thank you for helping ensure your daughter’s uniform is in good shape so we can start second semester as smoothly as we did the first. Your partnership is appreciated.

JANUARY 9 BLOOD DRIVE: Family and friends of sophomore Kaitlyn Clements, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia, will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive in honor of Kaitlyn on Friday, January 9 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Assumption Green.
