November 25, 2025

Today we took special time to thank God for all of the blessings in our school community during our Thanksgiving Celebration prayer service.  In addition, we announced the winner of the Assumption Rose Award given to a faculty or staff member who has made a significant difference in the lives of our students.  Assumption is proud that Jennifer Shirley, French teacher, was our recipient of this award – congratulations to Madame Shirley!

We would like to wish all of our Rocket families a safe and happy Thanksgiving.  We are thankful and offer this Thanksgiving prayer for each and every one of you!

Loving God,

We turn our hearts to you on this day for giving thanks, mindful of your many gifts.

For each one, we are grateful.

For each one, we are blessed.

For each one, we are open to the abundance of your love.

May this Thanksgiving Day offer a reminder to be generous with others, as you are with us.

We praise you.

We rejoice in you.

We give you thanks.

Amen.

— William H. Sadlier

Canstruction Carnival

Before we head into Thanksgiving Break, we want to share the amazing results from our first-ever Canstruction Carnival!

Our goal was ambitious—20,000 meals for Dare to Care—and while we didn’t quite hit that number, we came incredibly close. In less than two weeks, our Assumption families rallied together to provide 15,684 meals to neighbors in our community experiencing food insecurity. What an incredible impact!

Top Three Families

  • 1st Place: Family Charleville – 1,109 meals
  • 2nd Place: Family Cork – 1,102 meals
  • 3rd Place: Family Tullamore – 1,004 meals

Thank you to every family for your generosity and spirit. A special shout-out to our Family Council members for their creativity and courage in launching this new event. Your hard work made this possible!

On behalf of Family Council, thank you for showing compassion that inspires not only Assumption but the greater Louisville community.
