What a great day for our Assumption community to come together to celebrate the 42nd Annual Walk for Assumption, where we enjoyed our fun-filled HalloWALK! This long standing and much-loved tradition is the perfect way to help fund financial assistance for our student body. Even better, we conquered our schoolwide stretch goal of 5,500 by selling 5,542…. Rocket Raffle tickets AND raising $138,550.
The excitement isn’t over yet! The Rocket Raffle drawing will take place at Rocket Spectacular on February 7, 2026. All proceeds raised are dedicated to student financial assistance. Currently, over 40% of our student body receives some form of financial support to attend Assumption, and this year alone AHS distributed nearly $2 million in tuition assistance. The Walk for Assumption continues to be a means for us to ensure a life-changing Assumption education is within reach for any young woman who wants to be part of our community. Didn’t get a ticket? There’s still time! Rocket Raffle tickets will continue to be available until the drawing at our Rocket Spectacular Benefit Dinner and Auction, February 7, 2026. Tickets can be purchased through Rocket Raffle – Assumption High School (ahsrockets.org)
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful APO representatives, parent, and grandparent volunteers who helped with the student walk collection. It was two very busy weeks with collecting Rocket Raffle tickets and walk waivers. We could not have done it without each and every one of you!
We proudly recognize…
Our top ticket sellers:
- 1st place – Milly Golightly ’27
- 2nd place – Maddi Biven ‘26
- 3rd place – Kate Jarboe’27
The Winner of the Official Walk Design Contest: Hayden Ramsey ’26
We are thrilled with the results of our Rocket Raffle ticket sales and look forward to reaping all the benefits of the incentives we earned as a community this year! However, we are most excited about the work our students did to provide support to Future Rockets. We’re so proud to be part of this community!

Future Rockets Took Off!
We welcomed nearly 120 amazing 6th–8th grade girls to Assumption for a night of creativity, connection, and celebration! From DIY bag charms to custom soda bar creations, the energy was electric as each Future Rocket explored what makes her uniquely her.
If you know a family who would love this kind of experience, invite them to our Open House and help them discover how Assumption celebrates every student’s individuality. https://www.ahsrockets.org/admissions/

TESTING DAY & HUNTING GROUND ASSEMBLY – 12:30 DISMISSAL: On Tuesday, October 28, the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be taking standardized tests, and the seniors will be participating in The Hunting Ground Assembly. We will dismiss at approximately 12:30 p.m. So as to not disturb any testing, we wait for all rooms to finish before we dismiss. If your daughter is in our Learning Differences program and qualifies for extended time testing, please ask her what time she will finish. Students will have access to a Desmos calculator during the test, or they can bring their preferred calculator from the approved list. You can read more about the ACT’s calculator policy HERE. Please help your daughter remember to eat a good breakfast, charge her computer, and get a good night’s sleep. There is no make-up day for these tests and no replacement for the valuable feedback they provide for both the school and your daughter, so attendance on this day is very important.
- Please note: There will be no after-school supervision on testing day. Please make plans to have your daughter picked up accordingly.

ALL SAINTS DAY AND ALL SOULS DAY: November 1 and 2 are All Saints Day and All Souls Day in the Catholic Church, respectively, and both fall on a weekend this year. Therefore, we will prayerfully recognize the family members of anyone in the AHS community who has died during the past year as well as all Assumption alumnae who have passed on at any time during a prayer service in students’ theology classes on November 3 or 4. We will ask students to share the names of any family members they may have lost this past year so they can be part of this special remembrance, and we invite you to do the same. If you have lost a family member in the past calendar year, please email that person’s full name to Kathy Fleischer at Kathy.Fleischer@ahsrockets.org by Monday, October 27.
ASSUMPTION PARENT PRAYER: Our parent prayer group will meet on Wednesday, October 29 from 8:15-8:45 a.m. in the Main Office Conference Room, not the chapel. Please park in any open space and enter the school through the main entrance. We will pray for the Charleville family juniors and seniors. Please join us for any or all of these opportunities!
PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

Next week during RTI we are excited to announce our first Alumni Career Accelerator session on Monday, October 27. Two recent Assumption alumnae, Ava Belle Ferree ’20 and Haley Bain ’15, will be visiting our campus to share how their time at Assumption led to their current positions with LikeToKnowIt (LTK). We are excited to offer the opportunity for our students to hear from two of our alumnae who are using the Assumption Advantage to its greatest measure. Space is limited, so encourage your daughter to sign up in the RTI scheduling software as soon as possible!
We also are pleased to be able to offer Safe Environment Training (SET) through the archdiocese next Friday. This training will serve those students who are interested in coaching, leading scout groups or youth groups, or working at after-school care programming or any other program working with children in any capacity in the archdiocese. Many of these trainings are held at night, so this will be an easy way for our students to become trained for future volunteer and work opportunities.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES ON OCTOBER 31: We are so proud of the student body for not only meeting but exceeding our stretch Rocket Raffle ticket sales goal for the 42nd annual Walk for Assumption—and thus earning the privilege of wearing Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 31. As with every privilege, this one comes with some responsibilities! Students will be expected to follow the costume rules, which will be emailed to each of them, posted on student SharePoint, and reviewed via announcements during the days prior to our Halloween Dress Up Day. Some key highlights of these rules include:
- Students must be in full costume or full uniform.
- Costumes need to be “real” costumes.
- No big, inflated costumes will be allowed: They get too hot to wear all day, they make it difficult to walk up and down the steps safely, they are impossible when a student needs to go to the bathroom, and kids seldom can sit in a desk when wearing one. They were fine for the Walk for Assumption, but they will not work on a day when students are going to be having a regular day of school and going to classes.
- Students may not wear costume masks over their face or eyes (minimal face paint and makeup/accessories are okay, though).
- Costumes must be appropriate for a Catholic school and must cover the student “from neck to knees.” No bathing suits or undergarments may be worn over clothing, and tights/leggings/yoga pants may not be worn unless they are worn under a skirt or shorts.
- Costumes must be respectful, should not support stereotypes, and should not offend or make anyone feel uncomfortable because of their gender, race, ethnic background, or cultural heritage.
- Our regular school shoe policies apply (for safety reasons).
As noted above, detailed rules will be shared in advance for the students’ planning purposes. If your daughter has questions after reviewing the rules, please encourage her to email KAMARIA WESLEY
REMINDER ABOUT DELIVERIES: In an effort to teach our students about being accountable for their own belongings as well as to limit the number of visitors to school during the day and effectively monitor those visitors coming into the school, we have a policy that does NOT allow for student deliveries. Parents, please do not bring items (lunches, homework, bake sale items, sports equipment, presentations, papers, etc.) to school to drop off for your daughters. Our main office staff and athletic office staff have been instructed not to accept those deliveries. Thank you for your cooperation with these efforts.
SOCIAL SECURITY CARD: Please make sure we have a copy of your daughter’s Social Security card on file so we can properly submit each student’s information to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), which provides KEES money for college and scholarships for high school dual credit courses. We must have a copy of the physical card on file to be able to confirm the number is correct. Please note that only students living in Kentucky qualify for money through KHEAA. Indiana residents do not qualify. Please contact registrar JENNY FRIEDENBERG with any questions.
ROSE THEATRE FALL PRODUCTION: Next month, Rose Theatre Company is proud to present its production of Anastasia. Based on the 1997 animated film, this beloved musical shares the story of Anya, a determined young woman who travels from St. Petersburg to Paris. Against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution, Anya and her unlikely companions embark on a journey to unravel the mystery of her past and find “home, love, and family.” Their journey invites us all to consider how we find where we truly belong and share our true selves with others. Performances run Thursday, November 6 through Sunday, November 16, and tickets can be purchased at www.cur8.com by searching “Assumption High School.” If you or anyone in your party needs assistance with handicap accessibility, please reach out to us at rose.theatre@ahsrockets.org.
To celebrate Rose Theatre Company’s 25th anniversary season, we also invite you to the following Anastasia-related events:
- Young audience members and their families can register here for a community “Tea and Treasures” afternoon on Sunday, October 26 and enjoy themed stations, trivia, prizes, and a sneak peek from the musical!
- Schools can find information about our Tuesday, November 11 grade school performance for sixth- to eighth- graders on Assumption website’s Theatre Arts page.
- Any Assumption theatre alumni can sign up here for our “Journey to the Past”-themed reunion on Saturday, November 15. This free gathering is a chance to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate before our evening performance of Anastasia. Alumni are welcome to attend the reunion, the show, or both! Tickets to the evening performance are not included with an RSVP but are available through cur8.
FLAG FOOTBALL ROCKET NIGHT: Fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders are invited to join us for a special Flag Football Rocket Night on October 30 at 6:30 p.m. Future Rockets will get the chance to meet the players, watch them play in a team scrimmage, and then join them on the field to run drills. This will be a one-of-a-kind flag football event with hands-on experience and the opportunity to take home a special, limited-edition, Rocket receiver gloves to keep practicing at home. Sign up for the event using this link: https://www.ahsrockets.org/admissions/
