President and Principal, Mary Lang and Martha Tedesco
This is our final Rocket Report for the 2024-2025 school year as summer vacation begins after exams today for our students. Our school office will be open during the summer months Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. starting Tuesday, May 27 and ending Friday, August 1.
All families enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year will receive a back-to-school email in mid-to-late July with information about the start of school. Please check with the school office if you do not receive the email as there will be important information to complete for the beginning of the school year.
We are grateful for another successful year where our community worked to make the school year “unforgettable” in so many ways! Thank you for your support and for sharing your daughter with us. We hope that you and your family enjoy a fun-filled, healthy, and safe summer!

Earning College Credit
Our students are setting themselves up for incredible success! Over the last three weeks, nearly 300 students fearlessly took on 458 digital and hybrid Advanced Placement (AP) Exams spanning 22 AP courses. Not only that, but 323 unique students participated in total of 624 Dual Credit (DC) enrollments across 16 DC courses, learning at a college level while at Assumption. This commitment to rigorous academics is something we truly celebrate. The impact is clear: a fantastic 95% of our graduating Class of 2025 will begin their college careers with a valuable college transcript, already a step ahead!

MAKE-UP EXAMS: A doctor’s note is required to make up any missed exam. Makeup exams will be given on Tuesday, May 27 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 204; students need to bring their doctor’s notes in advance or bring them with them on May 27 to be eligible to take a makeup exam.

PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ANY STUDENT WHO REGISTERED FOR A DUAL CREDIT CLASS THROUGH UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR: If your daughter has registered to take DC English IV, DC Human Development and Learning, or DC The Teaching Profession, she was assigned to a RTI session on Wednesday, May 14. Our liaison from UL was here to get all students registered at UL for the Fall 2025 semester. IF YOUR DAUGHTER DID NOT ATTEND, SHE RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM MRS. FIELDHOUSE ON TUESDAY. Please make sure she took care of applying to UL as it is due TODAY. Parents will receive an email from UL that will need your response for your daughter’s admission to be complete.
UNIFORM/SPIRIT WEAR DONATIONS: The Guidance and Counseling department is now accepting uniform/spirit wear donations. Do you have any extra uniform pieces or spirit wear around your house? The counseling office uses the donated uniforms for three purposes. The Rocket Parent Network sells donated uniform pieces to raise money for their scholarships. The counselors also use donated uniform pieces to help students in financial need and for whom the replacement of a uniform piece would be cost prohibitive. We also have a lending closet in the counseling office for students who happen to forget a skirt or uniform piece. We are able to help these students by lending them a uniform item for a day. Donated uniforms may be dropped off in the counseling office anytime. You may want to mark your calendar now for our upcoming Rocket Parent Network Annual Used Uniform Sale, which will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the cafeteria. Most items are $10 and under. Come by and shop the bargains!
SHAHEEN’S JUNE UNIFORM SALE: Shaheen’s will be having their annual Summer Uniform Sale from June 1-June 30. You are invited to buy uniforms early and receive a 10% off storewide discount. Please consider taking advantage of this special opportunity, especially if your daughter has grown over the past year. Please look at the length of her skirt to be sure it is an appropriate length. Rising sophomores will participate in ACTS next year and may choose to either wear leggings under their uniform skirt or ACTS pants. Some of your daughters may have decided that they’d like a uniform quarter-zip sweatshirt after all. The Summer Uniform Sale would be a great time to make these purchases. A neat and appropriate uniform teaches our students to have pride in their own appearance as well as in their school. We ask for your help by investing in your daughter’s uniform for 2025-2026 school year. Click here for a flyer with the details about Shaheen’s best sale of the year.
HP LAPTOP INFORMATION FOR CURRENT FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, AND JUNIORS: All students must return their HP Elite laptop on the last day of school, Friday, May 23, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Before returning devices, students should back up all files to OneDrive, as all laptops will be wiped clean. Laptop pickup for next school year will take place in the Boeckmann Lab from July 14–31 for rising seniors and July 21–31 for sophomores and juniors, or on the first day of school if you cannot make these dates; students must bring their case and be current on tuition.
FINAL REPORT CARDS: Final report cards for the 2024-2025 school year will be emailed no later than June 2.
SUMMER READING: Students received their summer reading requirements in English classes this week. These requirements can also be found on the website under “Current Parents” and through this link: SUMMER READING 2025. Summer reading is an important component of the English curriculum, and the books read in the summer will be incorporated into the first unit of study in your daughter’s English class next school year. Students will need to purchase or borrow their own copy of the summer reading book. If a student borrows a copy from the library, please be sure to check it out so that she will have access to it at the beginning of the school year. PLEASE NOTE: If a student decides to make any schedule changes over the summer that result in a change in academic level for English, she is required to read the book assigned for that level, which may be a different book and/or a different assignment. She will need to find the correct summer reading assignment on the website.
PURCHASING BOOKS FOR 2025 – 2026 SCHOOL YEAR: As a reminder, books for the 2025–2026 school year are included in your tuition. Your daughter will receive her textbooks as well as links to any online materials before August 4, 2025. We are very excited to partner with the Lexington-based eCampus and will send a reminder with more details in a special message this summer.
ACT TEST PREP FOR SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: We are offering our students the opportunity to partner with TorchPrep, an innovative test training program that cracks the code on improving ACT scores. TorchPrep has continually yielded outstanding ACT scores for our students. Last year, Assumption students who participated in TorchPrep saw an average score increase of 2.4 points. All courses include 30 hours of direct training, four full-length simulated tests, TorchPrep training manual, customized study plan, and guaranteed results. A TorchPrep session will be offered at AHS from June 9-12, 2025. For details and registration, please follow this link: https://torchprep.com/louisville-act-test-prep/. TorchPrep is available to answer your questions and support your college access.
ROCKET NIGHT AT THE BATS: Kick off your summer with a night of baseball and family fun with the Louisville Bats. The annual Rocket Night at the Bats, sponsored by the AHS Alumnae Association, is being held on Thursday, June 5 at 6:35 p.m., at Louisville Slugger Field. All alumnae, families, and friends are invited and can enjoy food and drink specials while also celebrating their Rocket Pride! Plus, a portion of every ticket sold will be donated back to AHS in support of tuition assistance. Get your ticket here. For more information, contact ABBY MARTIN.
ASSUMPTION PARENT ORGANIZATION (APO) NEWS:
- Call for Class Representatives: Are you interested in getting more involved in the APO? We are looking for class representatives for the 2025-2026 school year. It is a great way to meet other parents, get to know the parents in your daughter’s class, and help in various ways throughout the year. For more information, please contact Lindsay Finley (APO President) at finleylindsay@gmail.com.

GRADUATION PHOTO REMINDER: A formal picture will be taken of each senior with her diploma and a rose by M. Haas Photography. You should receive a text message with a link for your daughter’s photos the week after graduation; however, you will be able to access photos to ALL senior events for purchase at https://mhaasphoto.gotphoto.com/jobs/ahs-athletics-event-2024-25. Packages start as low as $27 and will be mailed home directly. Please email Michelle.Hutchins@ahsrockets.org should you have any questions.
SENIOR TRANSCRIPTS: Final transcripts will be sent to your daughter’s college or university (and NCAA, if applicable) in mid-June. This is the university that she indicated on her final transcript request form she completed earlier this week during graduation practice. She may start to receive reminders from her university. She does not have to contact the guidance office regarding those reminders unless she needs to change the university she listed on her final transcript form. If a senior has earned college credit through a DC class, instructions for requesting those transcripts have been emailed to the senior.

SENIOR PORTRAITS: On Friday of last week, the junior class received information regarding an exciting event we will host on campus prior to the beginning of next year called Senior Media Day with M. Haas Photography. This will allow seniors to come to campus to get their official senior drape photo taken. This week, you should have received an email with the details of Senior Media Day, which will include a link to sign up for a time slot. Please save the date for Thursday, July 24 so your daughter can plan to be here. If your daughter can’t make that day, there will be alternative options for getting her senior portrait taken prior to school starting in August. Read more about her options and sign up for your timeslot here.
COLLEGE ADVISING DATES FOR JUNIORS: Leigh Jackson and Kimberly Habich, college counselors, will be available on several dates at the end of May and into the month of June to meet with current juniors (our rising seniors) and their parents to discuss the college application process. Mrs. Jackson, who works with the first part of the alphabet (A-L) will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 – Wednesday, June 4. Mrs. Habich, who works with the latter part of the alphabet (L-Z), will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 – Monday, June 2. Please contact via email to set up an appointment – LEIGH JACKSON or KIMBERLY HABICH.

JUNIOR ACTS SERVICE HOURS: Sophomores learned the details about their junior ACTS requirement in their theology classes. They are encouraged to begin this service over the summer. Before they begin serving, they will need to complete an online commitment form that requires a parent/guardian’s signature. Please see the syllabus for all the details JUNIOR ACTS SYLLABUS. If you have any questions, please reach out the service-learning director, Katie Culver (katie.culver@ahsrockets.org)
