Director of Engagement and Leadership, Kristin Walsh
Our Family Council is excited to bring new vision to our Compassion Connections program, a program originating from a senior dream idea over seven years ago and growing into a school-supported initiative. Compassion Connections is a way to connect our Assumption students to local service agencies in order to provide support in ways that make an impact.
Traditionally connected to our Assumption families, Compassion Connections is transforming into a schoolwide Service Fair during the school day on Tuesday, April 8. More than10 local agencies will be visiting during RTI time in order to connect with students and provide information about how students can complete service at their agency in areas related to help for the homeless, support for women and families, care and maintenance of the Earth, and advocacy for those with developmental disabilities, the elderly, and animals.
This event comes at a great time for students to consider their Junior ACTS service requirement and aligns with our mission, Compassion Inspires. While matching students with agencies is important, Family Council has also worked with these agencies to compile acts of service during RTI time on Wednesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 10 to feel the immediate impact of working together as a community.

ASPIRE Awards
This week, Assumption hosted members of the incoming Class of 2029 for our 2nd annual Aspire Awards! These students have been invited to the McAuley Honors Program because of their commitment to academic excellence. In addition, some of these students were also presented with the Presidential Merit Award, a four-year renewable scholarship, for earning top scores on the HSPT. These students and their families heard from our President, Mary Lang; Manager of Marketing & Admissions, Kelsey Gunter ’08; Director of the McAuley Honors Program, Dr. Colleen Murphy ’95; and a current member of the McAuley Honors Program, Nikita Nair ’26.
One of the great gifts of the McAuley Honors Program to its scholars is that in entering this program they become a part of a community of learners who have also embraced an attitude of aspiration. As members of the program, they have the opportunity to learn and grow together, to participate in a variety of activities that will help you continue to stretch your perspectives and worldview, who will challenge them to think outside of the box, and with whom they will be able to engage in thought-provoking and useful discussions as they move forward. We are so excited for these girls to join our community beginning in the Fall!

SPRING BREAK: Spring break will begin Friday, March 28 since we met our Rocket Raffle ticket sale incentive. School will resume on Monday, April 7. We wish all of our Assumption families a safe and happy spring break!

Activities will include a family potluck, opening ceremony, four Olympic-style games, and finally, a closing competition in the gym at the end of the day. Families will dine together in their family suites picnic style by either organizing a family potluck OR bringing their own brown bag lunch. Traditional FLIK lunch will not be available for purchase on this day as families are encouraged to spend their time together. Additionally, students are encouraged to wear a family t-shirt OR a t-shirt in their family color WITH their uniform skirts. May the best family win!

Well, everything. As things quickly go from bad to disastrous, this 1920s whodunit features everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Come see these accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it to final curtain, with hilarious consequences! Performances will be April 24 and 27 at 7 p.m. and April 26 and 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at CUR8.com. You can use this link or go to CUR8 and search for “Assumption.” If you or anyone in your party needs assistance with handicap accessibility, please contact us at rose.theatre@ahsrockets.org.

It means so much that you chose to invest in programs that further enhance the Assumption experience for your Rocket and future Rockets! Congratulations to the freshman class who won the class challenge with 21% giving and received a cupcake during lunch on Wednesday as their treat. For those who donated over $125 and did not receive their Owala water bottle this week, your Owala will be available for pick-up in the main office after Spring Break. Missed your chance to give? Click here to make your donation today.
- ALUMNAE UNITE: On April 8-10, Rocket alums are participating in our annual Alumnae Unite giving challenge between the alums of Bethlehem, Holy Cross, Mercy, Presentation, and Sacred Heart. Similar to the Rocket Madness family fundraiser in March, this fundraiser is focused on participation but is targeted for our alumnae in which they are asked to give back in support of their alma mater. This is one of the largest alumnae fundraisers of the year and is a big competition between the other schools’ alumnae. If you have an alum daughter, sister, or friend, please encourage them to participate in this fundraiser aimed at supporting all Rockets! Learn more here! For more information, contact ABBY MARTIN.
