Director of Mission Effectiveness – Mary Ann Steutermann
We are so excited about Assumption’s 18th annual Mission Week beginning Monday! It’s four days designed to be a special experience of growth and transformation outside traditional academics. Through a wide array of learning experiences, students are called to reflect upon their own dignity and worth, that of others, and the potential they each have to make the world a better place. Our Mission Week theme is “Live Your Mission” and will kick off when we gather as a community for Mass at St. Raphael on Monday morning. We invite your participation by holding us all close in prayer as we work with students to learn more about who they are, celebrate their own value, and respect that of others. Please remember in prayer those traveling for mission work and field trips, those teaching, those serving, those learning, those reflecting, those planning, and those adapting plans. Our parent prayer group will not be meeting this week due to the changed schedule, but we invite you to take some time on Monday to offer this prayer for the week:
Be with us, Merciful God, as we seek to be
Your voice, Your hands, Your love
in the world this week.
Help us be open to growth and new opportunities.
Give us the strength to always be people of Mercy.
Amen.

FLY GIRLS
The Varsity Club planned a fun-filled Spirit Week with festive theme days including a pep rally! Congratulations to our winter sports athletes and senior athletes who were recognized at our winter sports pep rally for their participation in archery, basketball, cheer, dance, and swimming/diving. And a big shout out to the Fly Girls of the Class of 2025 for their AMAZING fly girl dance performance – an Assumption senior tradition!

MISSION WEEK: Mission Week is Monday, February 24 – Thursday, February 27. We will begin school each morning one hour later at 9:10 a.m. and dismiss each day at 3:00 p.m. We believe that Mission Week activities are so important that we suspend classes for the week; all students are required to attend and participate in the activities scheduled, both on and off campus. All attendance policies apply during Mission Week–if your daughter is ill and unable to participate on a given day, please call the attendance office as usual. If at all possible, please do not schedule medical appointments for your daughter on days when she will be participating in activities off campus. There is no school on Friday, February 28.
BEFORE- AND AFTER-SCHOOL SUPERVISION: During Mission Week, before-school supervision will be provided in the cafeteria as usual beginning at 7:15 a.m. each day. After-school supervision will also be provided each day in the cafeteria until 4:30 p.m. as usual.
BLOOM THEATRE PROJECT: Bringing Life Onstage and Offstage through Ministry (BLOOM) is Assumption’s social justice theatre project and annual student theatre festival. This year’s production, titled “Live It Loud,” will take place on Friday, February 21, and Saturday, February 22, at 7:00 p.m. The project features four student-written plays based on the Mission Week theme, “Live Your Mission.” Rose Theatre Company invites you to experience these original works FREE of charge. General admission. No tickets required. If you or anyone in your party requires assistance or handicap accessibility, please contact ANDREW STAIRS.
ROCKET PARENT NETWORK (RPN) UPDATE: The Rocket Parent Network invites you to their next speaker program on February 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the AHS theater. The presentation will focus on helping your daughters through feelings of anxiety and being overwhelmed. They will host the parents of three daughters and a local therapist. This program is also offered online via Zoom through this link: RPN Meeting on Zoom Feb 24 Link Meeting ID: 834 1441 8659 Passcode: 4yJZR0

ASSUMPTION PARENT PRAYER: Due to Mission Week, Parent Prayer will resume on Tuesday, March 4. We hope to see you then.
PRAYER INTENTIONS: All Assumption parents and alumnae are invited to share prayer intentions. Periodically, we will include the line of “prayer intentions posted online by AHS parents and alumnae” as part of our morning prayer over the P.A. Likewise, feel free to include the intentions you find there in your own personal prayer. To participate, please follow this link.

2025-2026 SCHOOL CALENDAR: We are in the process of building the 2025-2026 school calendar. Although we have not finalized the calendar, we recognize that our families may need general calendar information in advance. To help with this need, the tentative key calendar dates for 2025-2026 are now posted on our website through this link: IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL CALENDAR
IMPORTANT UPCOMING STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION: In March, we will be starting the registration process for the 2025-2026 school year. Below is important information:
- TUITION AND REGISTRATION FEES FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR: Parents or guardians of current freshman, sophomore, or junior students will be receiving an email in April announcing tuition for the 2025-2026 school year. This year we will continue using Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM) for registration and tuition. BBTM will automatically re-enroll your account in March for the 2025-2026 school year. Once that process is complete, you will receive a verification email from BBTM with instructions on how to log in to your 2025-2026 account or call them directly to make any changes (payment plan, banking information, etc.) Your registration fee will be included with your July payment. If your daughter will not be returning for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact our registrar KATHY FLEISCHER. If you have any questions about your account, please contact TAMMY FINCH.
- CURRENT FRESHMAN PARENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION NIGHT – Save the date! Attention, all freshman parents: On Thursday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. please join Dean of Studies Theresa Schuhmann for an online meeting in which she will provide information about the registration and course selection process for all freshman parents. We highly recommend you take advantage of this important informational session to help your daughters plan their course of study for their sophomore year. A link to the meeting will be available closer to the meeting date.
- PARENT POWERSCHOOL LOG IN FOR 2025-2026 REGISTRATION: We began meeting with freshmen, sophomores, and juniors regarding decision making around next year’s schedule earlier this month, and we will meet with students during Community Time on March 3 and 10 to prepare for our online registration for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a great time to have a conversation with your daughter about her classes for next year. More detailed information will follow, but please make note that you will need to log into your parent PowerSchool account to register your daughter for classes next year. If you have forgotten your parent username or password for PowerSchool, when you go to the login screen for PowerSchool, just click on the link “Having trouble signing in?” and follow the directions to obtain a forgotten username or forgotten password. Please contact kathy.fleischer@ahsrockets.org or brent.miller@ahsrockets.org if you have trouble logging in!
- 2025-2026 COURSE SELECTIONS: On Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11, our teachers will be conferencing with all current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors regarding their course selections for the 2025-2026 school year. We encourage you to have a conversation regarding course selections for next year prior to March 10 and 11 so that students can have more productive meetings with their teachers. Registration will open after school on March 11.
- 2025-2026 COURSE SELECTIONS & DEADLINES: Your daughter will consult with her teachers for class suggestions, meet with her parents/guardians to log into PowerSchool using the PARENT account, and make careful selections of courses for next year. We ask that she print the selections and bring them to school to obtain teacher signatures and turn in the parent signed course selections no later than Wednesday, March 19.

- March 6: Freshman parent info session
- March 10 and 11: Teachers meet with students individually during class to discuss class selections

TORCHPREP ACT SUMMER INTENSIVE CAMP: Thanks to the families who attended our college night last week. We have gotten requests for the information shared by Rhett Barbour about the TorchPrep session offered at AHS from June 9-12, 2025. The ACT will change significantly by September 2025, so this is the last year for your daughter to take the current version. It’s a great opportunity to achieve target scores for college admissions and scholarships. For details and registration, please follow this link: https://torchprep.com/louisville-act-test-prep/. TorchPrep is available to answer your questions and support your college access.
AHS SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION OPENING SOON: We are excited to announce that registration for the 2025 camp schedule will open on Monday, March 3! Assumption will be offering over 35 stimulating enrichment and athletic summer camps for girls and boys in grades K-9. Please contact Lauren Lega with any questions.

The week of February 24-27 will be our 18th annual award-winning Mission Week. This year’s theme gets at the heart of the matter – Live Your Mission. Everything we have planned throughout the week is designed to help students live their mission not only as children of God but also as unique individuals capable of making a difference in the world.
MONDAY PROGRAM: On Monday we will kick off the week with Mass for the whole school. Additionally, the BLOOM (Bringing Life Onstage and Offstage through Ministry) Theatre Project will feature students performing short plays written, directed, and performed by AHS students. Students will also hear our Assumption TED Talk series that will spotlight a handful of students sharing powerful stories about how they have “lived their mission” and participate in a family competition before ending the day in celebration of our own personal missions.
STUDENT INFORMATION FOR MONDAY: We would like to share information given to students this week about Monday. Please remind your daughter of the following for Monday:
- Students may wear spirit wear as usual.
- Students do not need to bring their laptops.
- Students will need to bring a bagged lunch (one that is NOT microwavable). Students who forget their lunch can purchase a FLIK sack lunch for $6.75 (peanut, butter & jelly or turkey/cheese option).
