Yesterday we celebrated the last day of classes for our senior class with our traditional Senior Walk Out. The “walk out” has always been the faculty and staff’s way to celebrate, thank, and say goodbye to the senior class. It was a wonderful day with our seniors who have truly created and lived “#beautiful moments” this school year. We are so proud of our “Always 23” seniors who will always be forever young to us.
One new addition to the traditional Senior Walk Out created during the height of the pandemic for the Class of 2020 and 2021 is a special video message from the faculty and staff that was played before the seniors walked out. The video can be viewed here:

The Assumption Honors Ceremony was held today for our underclasswomen. At this event, we celebrated the accomplishments of our underclasswomen in the areas of academics, service, fine arts, and leadership and honor scholarship recipients. We are so proud of the accomplishments of our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors this year! We also honored the service of faculty and staff as we awarded the annual Karen Russ Excellence in Teaching Award to James Sutherland, Spanish Teacher, and the Excellence Award for Staff to Cindi Baughman, Dean of Students. An online program highlighting the many achievements recognized today will be available in next week’s Rocket Report.

JUNIOR RING CEREMONY: We will be celebrating the Class of 2024 at their ring blessing ceremony on Saturday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael. Please keep the juniors and their families in your prayers as they celebrate this special milestone!

SCHEDULES FOR 2023-2024: Your daughter will receive her list of classes for the 2023 – 2024 school year during LEAD & Learn homeroom time next week. Please ask her to share this list with you. If she is interested in changing her classes, please have her bring a signed note from a parent with this request to her dean during her study or after school May 18-25 during final exams. If she is interested in a levels change, she will need a teacher’s signature in addition to a parent signature.
UNIFORM/SPIRIT WEAR DONATIONS: The Guidance and Counseling Department is now accepting uniform/spirit wear donations. Do you have any extra uniform pieces or spirit wear around your house? The Counseling Office uses the donated uniforms for three purposes. The Rocket Parent Network sells donated uniform pieces to raise money for their scholarships. The counselors also use donated uniform pieces to help students in financial need and for whom the replacement of a uniform piece would be cost prohibitive. We also have a lending closet in the Counseling Office for students who happen to forget a skirt or uniform piece. We are able to help these students out by lending them a uniform item for a day. Donated uniforms may be dropped off in the Counseling Office anytime. You may want to mark your calendar now for our upcoming Rocket Parent Network Annual Used Uniform Sale which will be held on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the gym. Come by and shop the bargains!
BOOK BUYBACKS: We will conduct our book buybacks on Thursday, May 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. If students will be selling their books back to MBS Direct, they will need to go to their website after May 13, get a quote, and print out two (2) copies of the packing slip (three copies if you have more than six books). In order to take full advantage of the guaranteed buyback, students will need to log into the account used to purchase books when accessing book buyback online quotes. If you need assistance, please contact JUDY FIELDHOUSE. Please see this flyer for details and instructions.
END-OF-THE-YEAR TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS:
One of our technology integration specialists will share the following information with our students in one of their May class meetings.
- All students must turn in their HP laptop to the Boeckmann Lab by their last day of classes. Seniors must turn in their HP laptops on or before May 16, depending on their last exam. All other students need to turn them in on or before May 25.
- Graduating seniors may purchase their HP laptops for $5.00. However, they must turn them in and tell us then if they want to purchase them so we can remove the school software if they do. The graduates may pick up their purchased HP laptop starting the week of June 12. Come to the Boeckmann Lab Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- If a senior wants to purchase her HP laptop, the $5.00 fee, (cash or check, no credit cards) will be collected when she comes to pick it up. The HP laptops not purchased by the seniors will be placed in our school loaner pool or will be used for parts to fix other computers. A big thank you to all graduates who decide to give their HP devices back to the school.
- The PC warranty and accidental damage protection ends the day before graduation.
- Rising seniors may pick up their HP laptops starting the week of July 17 and rising sophomores and juniors starting the week of July 24. Come to the Boeckmann Lab Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. HP laptops can only be given to students who come with their school-issued case to pick up. This is a requirement for our accidental damage insurance.
- Be sure to report accidents and get computers fixed in the Boeckmann Lab within 30 days of the damage. Students who are experiencing any hardware issues (physical damage such as cracked screens, damaged plastics, etc.) with their HP laptops must bring their devices to the Boeckmann Lab within 30 days of the accidental damage.
