Ceal Barry ’73 Inducted to Louisville Catholic Sports Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Ceal Barry ’73 who was inducted into the Louisville Catholic Sports Hall of Fame last night. During her time at Assumption, she played basketball, volleyball and field hockey. After graduating she went on to play as a guard all four years for the University of Kentucky’s basketball team and also lettered three times in field hockey.

Most notably, Ceal has spent 37 years at Colorado University serving as CU’s legendary women’s basketball head coach for 22 seasons. She has received the Big Eight Coach of the Year four times and the District V Coach of the Year twice.
Ceal has served on the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Issues Committee, a head coach at Cincinnati, and was an assistant coach on the U.S. Women’s Olympic basketball team gold medal winners. In 2006 she was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. We are thrilled that she is now a 2019 member of the Louisville Catholic Sports Hall of Fame. Assumption High School is extremely proud of Ceal, she is extremely deserving of this award! #ExcellenceEmpowers
