Rockets Taking Initiative (RTI): Leadership Opportunities in Real Time
A cornerstone of the Assumption experience is Rockets Taking Initiative (RTI), which is dedicated time built into the school day to support student growth beyond the classroom. During RTI, students can:
- Participate in leadership enrichment and skill‑building sessions
- Explore interests and passions
- Engage in service, wellness, and personal development opportunities
- Take ownership of their growth in a supportive environment
RTI removes barriers such as after‑school conflicts or transportation challenges, ensuring equitable access to leadership development for all students. As students advance through grade levels, RTI intentionally builds independence, helping grow skills like time management, decision-making, and advocating for themselves.
At Assumption, RTI is more than a schedule, it’s a mindset. It encourages students to take initiative in how they learn, lead, and grow.
Clubs & Student Involvement
At Assumption High School, student involvement is not extracurricular—it is foundational to who we are. We believe that students grow best when they are connected, engaged, and empowered to explore their interests in meaningful ways.
With a wide range of clubs, organizations, leadership teams, and honor societies, every Rocket has opportunities to:
- Discover new passions
- Deepen existing interests
- Build confidence and community
- Grow as a leader—in her own way
From academic teams and honor societies, to faith‑based and service organizations, to creative, cultural, athletic, and wellness‑focused clubs, Assumption offers a rich landscape of involvement that supports the development of the whole young woman.

Clubs and organizations at Assumption are intentionally designed to be inclusive, student-driven, and purpose-centered. Whether a student is someone who:
- Loves competition and academic challenge
- Feels called to advocacy, service, or social justice
- Expresses herself through music, theater, writing or art
- Seeks leadership roles or prefers behind-the-scenes engagement
- Wants to try something new
Students are encouraged to explore, sample, and grow, knowing that leadership often begins with curiosity and connection. At Assumption, we believe:

Whether leading a club meeting, serving others, mentoring peers, or simply showing up with integrity and courage, every student is invited to lead in her own way.
Through RTI, LEOs, student leadership roles, and meaningful engagement opportunities, Assumption High School prepares young women to lead with confidence, compassion, and faith—today and into the future.
Leadership through Involvement.
At Assumption, leadership is not defined by titles alone. Active participation itself is a form of leadership. Through clubs and student organizations, students learn to:
- Collaborate with peers
- Communicate with confidence
- Plan and lead events
- Serve others with compassion
- Advocate for issues that matter to them
Many clubs offer opportunities for officer roles, committee leadership, project management, and event planning, allowing students to practice real‑world leadership skills in a supportive environment. Participation in clubs and organizations also complements:

- Christian Leadership Distinctions

We recognize that students engage differently—and that’s exactly how it should be.
Some Rockets are deeply involved in multiple organizations. Others choose one club that feels like home. Both paths are valued. What matters most is that each student feels seen, supported, and encouraged to engage in a way that aligns with her gifts and interests.
Our goal is not just participation—but meaningful engagement that fosters confidence, belonging, and leadership that lasts beyond high school. At Assumption, we believe:
Leadership Education Opportunities (LEOs)
Leadership Education Opportunities (LEOs) are short, focused lessons designed to teach concrete leadership and life skills. These sessions allow students to learn how to lead, not just hold leadership titles. LEOs may focus on skills such as:
- Communication and collaboration
- Time and task management
- Leadership styles and self‑awareness
- Advocacy, service, and ethical decision‑making
- Wellness, balance, and personal growth
Some leadership skills are introduced to all students during designated programming times, while additional LEOs are available as optional enrichment before, during, or after school—including during RTI. Participation in LEOs is also one pathway toward earning Assumption’s Christian Leadership Distinctions, which recognize students who demonstrate leadership through faith, service, justice, and advocacy.
