Rose Theatre Company

ONSTAGE, OFFSTAGE, AND BEYOND

Rose Theatre Company (RTC) is open to all students interested in the performing arts. Each year, RTC produces three shows: a fall musical, the BLOOM Theatre Project (social justice-focused theatre connected to Mission Week), and a spring play. Through student-led, mission-driven, community-forward storytelling, Rose Theatre nurtures individuals onstage and off to cultivate talents and lifelong passions.

Students are selected through an audition process that takes place approximately six to ten weeks prior to the production. The company gives students an opportunity to develop their acting talent and/or technical skill through the rehearsal process. Performances give the students an opportunity to share their mastered skill with the community. Assumption students also participate in the technical components of a production with student led crews for lighting, sound, costumes, hair and make-up, publicity, set design, props, and more.

The modern Humana Foundation Performing and Fine Arts Center features a 295-seat theatre with a thrust stage and art gallery space.

Assumption High School's Rose Theatre Company is open to all students who enjoy drama.

2026-2027 Season: "Nowadays"

Fall Musical:
Chicago: Teen Edition

In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines in search of their "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.

BLOOM

Spring Play:
Little Women

Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel comes to life onstage: the March daughters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy— face triumph and tragedy as they grow up, fall in love, and make their way during the Civil War era. This warm, touching, and crowd-pleasing American tale showcases the strength and courage of young women and those who love them.
