Family Program

The Family Program is a school-wide program designed to offer support to incoming freshmen as well as build unity and school spirit across the classes. The family program consists of nine families named after the nine foundations begun in Ireland by the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, Catherine McAuley: Kingstown, Tullamore, Charleville, Carlow, Cork, Limerick, Booterstown, Galway, and Birr.

Each of the families is comprised of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who meet daily in their Family Suites and stay together all four years. Two teachers are assigned to each homeroom and generally stay with the homeroom room through their four years of high school. Students meet in homerooms to build and promote class unity, obtain grade level information and participate in grade level and family spirit activities throughout the year.

Junior Homeroom Moms chosen from each family welcome and acclimate their newest freshmen family members to Assumption. Freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior representatives are elected by their families and are responsible for leading their family rooms in family spirit activities throughout the year.
