ACE Mentor Program

The ACE Mentor Program (Architecture - Construction - Engineering) is an after-school program that provides a hands-on introduction to architecture, design, engineering, construction management, and other construction careers, and this year Assumption is Louisville's first all-girls school to partner with the ACE Mentor Program. If your daughter has the imagination and desire to design and/or construct buildings ranging from schools and stadiums to concert halls, bridges, tunnels, shopping malls, parks and more, ACE will open the door to that possibility.
The program matches students with ACE professionals who volunteer their time and energy to mentor students in these fields. Our professional liaison to the program is Cheryl Kersey, a registered architect, LEED accredited professional and a certified interior designer who holds degrees in both Architecture and Interior Design.  Ms. Kersey is recruiting a team of professionals who will give ACE students the opportunity to see where and how they work, the skills used and some of their projects under construction. This team will guide ACE participants to design a project for possible construction on Assumption’s campus or in our community. Upon completing the program, they will have the opportunity to earn scholarship dollars for college if they elect to major in these fields.
The ACE Mentor Program is open to all interested students beginning freshman year. An application process will be announced at the beginning of each school year. For more information please contact Assistant Principal and Dean of Studies Theresa Schuhmann ’92 at
