“Anything you want in life takes hard work and it’s working hard that has allowed me to grow and compete at this level,” said Lee Ann.
Try-outs were conducted Dec. 26-29, 2017 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the headquarters for the U.S. Women’s National Team. Lee Ann learned she made the final cut on Dec. 29.
“I was so excited to be selected from the extraordinary players that tried-out and am grateful for the privilege to play on the team,” she shared.
Lee Ann plays defense for the Assumption Rockets and has already committed to play at the collegiate level for Wake Forest University. She attended grade school at St. Michael Catholic School in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
“I am so grateful to be at Assumption and learn from the positive example and dedication of my older teammates,” Lee Ann expressed. “It’s the relationships I have developed with my teammates and coaches that inspire me,” she added.
Team U.S.A. training begins at the end of January in San Francisco, California and Lee Ann is looking forward to using that time to get to know her teammates and to continue to challenge herself in field hockey.
