From Future Rocket to Freshman

A JOURNEY THAT BEGINS WITH A "YES!" AND TURNS INTO SOMETHING SO MUCH BIGGER.

Getting ready for high school is such a special and fun time, but just like any change, we know there may be nervousness and questions. That's why we work to keep our Future Rockets and their families informed, up-to-date on opportunities or events, and confident through the transition to high school.

Learn more about going from Future Rocket to Freshman Rocket right here, or get in touch with our Marketing & Admissions Office at 502-458-XXXX.

At Assumption, becoming a Rocket doesn’t start on the first day of school.
It begins the moment you open your acceptance package and continues through experiences that help you feel

prepared, confident, and already part of something special.

The Moment It Begins

It starts with an email. A letter. A moment you’ve been waiting for.

This is just the beginning of an your unique Assumption story. In early February, acceptance letters are sent, welcoming you into our community. Alongside that excitement, families receive guidance for what comes next, because from this point forward, you’re never navigating this journey alone.

Through our monthly “What’s Next” communications, we walk with you step by step. We share important dates, reminders, and opportunities to get involved so you always feel informed and supported.

Finding Your People

Well before school starts in August, you begin building a sisterhood.

At your class's Welcome Event, you meet the girls who will soon be your classmates. This event helps you make connections and get a first glimpse of what it feels like to belong here.

Then comes Rocket Night, where we welcome Future Rockets of all ages to experience the spirit, energy, and traditions of Assumption in full force.

Participating in these opportunities help our newest Rockets build friendships, immerse themselves in Assumption's culture, and get to know our campus. This is where unfamiliar faces become familiar, and where excitement begins to replace uncertainty.

Making it Official

an important milestone: becoming a registered rocket.

Not too long after acceptance packages and initial information is received, it’s time to make it real. In late February, we'll invite our newest Rockets and their families to Freshman Registration. This is where you will:

  • Discuss your levels of courses
  • Choose your art requirement
  • Begin shaping your path for the next four years
  • Officially become part of the Assumption community!

This is an important moment where your future begins to take shape, and you won't do it alone. Our team will guide you, answer your questions, and make sure every aspect of registration feels clear and manageable.

We're Charmed to Have You!

An opportunity for our newest Rockets and their families to mingle, ask questions, and have fun.

In March, we'll host an event exclusively for your class: Charmed! This is designed for students and parents to connect, reflect, and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of the Assumption family. Here, both students and families begin to see:

  • The strength of the sisterhood
  • The support system that surrounds them
  • The people who will walk alongside them in the years ahead

It’s a reminder that this journey isn’t just about one student. It’s about becoming part of something bigger, together.

Parents & Families Get Involved

The Summer Before Everything Changes

And then… summer begins. Somewhere between the end of 8th grade and that first day of high school, something quietly shifts.

All incoming freshmen attend Summer Seminar, a four-day program that engages each of our newest Rockets. From mingling with fellow future classmates to exploring the campus to finding out which family you will be in, it's a great moment of connection that sets the tone for your four years at Assumption.

Throughout the summer, you continue to step into your new role as a Rocket through:

  • Summer camps and programs, where you explore interests and meet even more classmates
  • Laptop training, helping you feel confident and ready for day one
  • Continued communication and preparation so you never feel unprepared

Without even realizing it, you’re no longer wondering what high school will feel like. You’re already living it, piece by piece.

Your First Day

Here before you know it, and you walk in ready.

Our newest Rockets experience Freshman First Day, specially structured for:

  • Walking through your full schedule
  • Meeting each of your teachers
  • Learning the rhythm of your day
  • Beginning to settle into your new environment

And then, one of the most meaningful traditions: Your Assumption Birthday. Together, you celebrate not just the start of the school year, but the beginning of your place in this sisterhood.

You look around and realize something powerful:
This is your class.
This is your community.
This is your home.
