The Achievement Center

At Assumption High School, we are committed to ensuring every student has the resources to excel, academically and personally. The Achievement Center (AC) is a welcoming, student-centered hub of personalized academic support, skill-building, and empowerment. More than a tutoring space, the AC is where students gain confidence, clarity, and strategies for lasting success.
Open to Every Rocket
The Achievement Center is available to all students across all grade levels. Whether a student benefits from ongoing mentoring or needs quick, targeted help, the AC provides both long-term support and “just-in-time” assistance across all content areas.
Students may visit the AC during study hall, before or after school, or be referred by counselors, teachers, or parents. Many Rockets also self-refer during Rockets Taking Initiative (RTI) time—demonstrating ownership of their learning and a commitment to growth.
More than Homework Help
In addition to content-area support, the Achievement Center focuses on essential academic and life skills.
- Time management and organization
- Study and note-taking strategies
- Test preparation and test-taking skills
- Research and writing support
The AC also collaborates closely with classroom teachers to schedule targeted sessions for students who need additional reinforcement—helping students stay on track and build momentum.
One-to-One Assistance
Students may work directly with AC teachers during study hall for short-term academic help or longer-term development of learning strategies that support success across disciplines.
Peer Tutoring
The AC connects students with peer tutors: fellow Rockets who excel in specific subject areas. Tutors are thoughtfully paired based on learning styles and also assist with study and organizational skills.
Study Groups
Throughout the year, especially during midterms and finals, the Achievement Center hosts structured study groups before and after school. AP study groups are also offered in advance of AP exams to help students prepare confidently for college-level assessments.
