HP Laptop Program

Every student receives a high-performance HP laptop PC, fully integrated with Microsoft 365 tools like OneNote, Teams, and OneDrive. These devices are used across all subjects and grade levels, supporting everything from note-taking and research to multimedia projects and collaborative learning. Students are trained before school begins and receive ongoing support throughout the year.

On-Site Tech Support & the Boeckmann Lab

Our in-house tech team includes four HP-certified technicians available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students never have to send devices away for repairs—issues are resolved quickly on campus. If a device needs more extensive service, students receive a loaner so learning never stops. The Boeckmann Lab serves as our tech help desk, where students can troubleshoot issues, borrow devices, and receive hands-on support.

Digital Literacy: Applied Digital Skills Course

All freshmen and transfer students complete a semester-long, fully virtual course called Applied Digital Skills. This course teaches essential tech skills such as file organization, Microsoft 365 tools, keyboard shortcuts, digital citizenship, and assignment submission. Designed to level the playing field, it ensures all students—regardless of prior experience—are equipped to succeed in a tech-integrated academic environment.

Student Technology Leaders (STLs)

The STL program offers students the opportunity to serve as peer tech experts. STLs work in the Boeckmann Lab during study periods, assist with troubleshooting, and support teachers in classrooms. They earn service hours and gain valuable leadership and technical skills. Open to all grade levels, this program fosters confidence, responsibility, and real-world experience.

Student Support Time - RTI

Our custom-built Student Support Time platform allows students to sign up for enrichment or intervention sessions during designated RTI blocks. Teachers can request students, track attendance, and prioritize needs. This personalized scheduling system—developed in partnership with a flexible software provider—is unique to Assumption and ensures every student receives the support they need, when they need it.

3D Design & Laser Cutting

Our 3D Design and Fabrication course introduces students to CAD (Computer-Aided Design), 3D printing, and laser cutting. Using industry-standard tools like Tinkercad and Inkscape, students design and produce everything from phone stands to personalized gifts. With 14 Prusa 3D printers and a Glowforge laser cutter, each student has access to their own machine, making Assumption’s lab one of the most hands-on and student-centered in the region.

Instructional Technology Leadership

Assumption’s commitment to innovation extends to our faculty. Our Instructional Technology Lead supports teachers with training, resources, and personalized coaching. Through weekly PD sessions in the Center for Innovative Teaching (CIT), faculty explore tools like AI, Canva, Microsoft Teams, and more. These sessions are short, practical, and designed to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.

AI Integration & Ethics

Assumption is actively preparing students and teachers to navigate the evolving world of artificial intelligence. Through workshops, classroom integration, and future plans for modular training, we are building a culture of ethical, informed AI use. Students learn how to use AI tools responsibly, while faculty receive ongoing support to integrate AI meaningfully into their curriculum.

Safe, Responsible Use

Assumption uses a multi-layered approach to digital safety, including firewalls, web filters, and the Class Policy app. Teachers and parents can monitor student activity, block distractions, and promote responsible device use. Our IT team works proactively to address challenges and ensure a safe, focused learning environment.
