March 11, 2008 – Louisville, KY – Assumption High School senior Sarah Schmitt will receive the A.B. Sawyer Youth Recognition Award, presented by the Rotary Club of Louisville.

Schmitt was nominated for the Rotary “Unsung Hero” award by her high school counselor for unrecognized service to others, willingness to go above and beyond what is asked of her, and optimistic attitude in the face of challenges. Schmitt will be invited, along with a faculty representative, to attend a special recognition luncheon at The Galt House West on March 20, where she will receive her award and a $500 savings bond.

Assumption High School was founded in 1955 by the Sisters of Mercy. Located at 2170 Tyler Lane, the school brings almost 1,000 students together, grades 9-12, in a Catholic environment.
