Camp Information
Due to the amount of space and to ensure the quality of the camp, we will accept only a limited number of campers. In past years, we have had to turn people away, so please register early. There will be no refunds given.
Locations for Camp
Basketball, Dance and, Volleyball Camps are held at the school gym (get directions). Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer and Softball camps are held at Assumption's Sports Recreation and Training Center on Champions Trace Drive (get directions). Running campers will receive information on where to meet each day.
Campers will receive T-shirts
Campers need proper shoes, clothing, water bottles, shin guards, cleats, knee pads or other sports specific related equipment. Change for soft drink and snack purchases is optional. For further information call (502) 271-2675.

Basketball
Session I
June 2-4 Grades 3-5

Coaches Bob and Martha Todd will emphasize all basketball fundamentals and have daily instruction, lectures, and demonstrations by coaches and players. Daily activities will include free throw and shooting competitions, team drills, and games.

Dance
Session I
June 16-18 Grades K-4

Session II
June 16-18 Grades 5-9
1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
This camp will be sponsored by the Assumption High School Dance Team. This is a three-day camp that will have two sessions depending on age and ability. Campers will be taught the skills and techniques of dance. Campers will be grouped according to age and dance ability to maximize their camp experience. No dance experience is necessary.

Field Hockey
Session I
July 7-10 Grades 4-7

Session II

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Sessions are designed for Coach Debbie Judd to teach fundamental skills, positional play, rules, and basic strategies within the game of field hockey. Campers will be grouped according to age and experience to maximize their individual learning experience. Attention will also be directed to teamwork, leadership, and having FUN! Each day campers will participate in small games.

Lacrosse
Session
June 9-11 Grades 5-9
9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
This camp will be run by lacrosse coaches Bobby Blair and Matthew Cope. Campers will be taught the basic skills and techniques of the sport. The camp will focus on the rules, teamwork, and fundamentals of the sport as well as having FUN!

June 1-6 Grades 4-9
12:00 noon-3:00 p.m.
The Rockets were State Cross Country Champions in 2007. This camp will be run by Barry Haworth, Head Cross Country and Track Coach. This camp will focus on various aspects of training, including speed development, endurance, nutrition, and FUN!

Soccer
June 16-19 Grades 5-9
6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The camp will offer instruction in the basics and intermediate skills of soccer. Campers will be exposed to drills, techniques, and game strategies. In addition, campers will become knowledgeable of game rules and teamwork. Coaches Kenyon Meyer and Niki McWilliams will lead and evaluate campers.

Head coach John Wolfe will teach the basics in fielding, base running, throwing, hitting, bunting, and slap hitting. Athletes will also work on the mental aspects of game preparation, teamwork, and the importance of academic performance. An optional pitcher and catcher session will cover basic position skills and drills to improve strength and performance.

This camp, lead by 14 time State Champion coach Ron Kordes will offer instruction in basic and intermediate skills of volleyball. Campers will be grouped according to ability to maximize their individual learning experience. Attention will be directed to playing strategies, physical and jump training, teamwork, leadership, and having FUN!
