Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Offerings

Through Advanced Placement and Dual Credit options, Assumption offers 40 college courses to provide students the opportunity to develop a college transcript while still in high school.

Assumption’s commitment to individualization is highlighted by the varied options through which students earn college credit. Our diverse program allows students to take on the challenge of college course work when it best fits her academic program. Students may begin earning college credit as a freshman and graduate with over 50 credit hours, or a student may choose to challenge herself with her first college courses as an upperclasswoman and enter college with core credit requirements completed.

Assumption has identified multiple pathways to combine high school course work with college credit courses to achieve students’ career pathway goals; however, students aren’t limited by those pathways and often choose a combination of course work that is as unique as she is.

Whether she chooses a concentrated approach or a more liberal arts style, Assumption’s combination of semester, year-long courses, and the variety of elective offerings in each of the core content areas allows remarkable individualization of course of study for every student at every level.

OUR PHILOSOPHY ABOUT COLLEGE COURSES:

While we are exceptionally proud of credits earned and passing test rates on AP exams, we are equally as proud of our philosophy to allow students to choose this coursework even if it a stretch for them based on their previous grades or standardized test scores. When a student chooses this rigorous course of study, she is preparing herself to not only be accepted to choice colleges or universities but she also gains the skills to succeed and graduate.
