Rocket Report
Dear Parents,
We happily welcomed the Class of 2023 at registration last night. They were so excited to officially become Assumption Rockets. Thank you for your support and prayers as we worked to recruit a healthy class of incoming freshmen who will continue to carry on the tradition of an Assumption High School Catholic education.
CALENDAR NOTE:
- Parent/Teacher/Student conferences will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
CAMPUS MINISTRY:
- PARENT PRAYER GROUP ON TUESDAY MORNINGS: We invite all parents to join our parent prayer group that meets on Tuesdays at 8:15 a.m. in the chapel. Each prayer experience lasts just 30 minutes, dress is casual, and there’s no commitment to ongoing participation. Just come whenever you can make it!
- CAMPUS MINISTRY – GOSPEL REFLECTION: The reflection on the Sunday gospels written by Mary Ann Steutermann, director of Campus Ministry, was linked in the email that includes this Rocket Report link. We invite you to take a few minutes for yourself to read and reflect. You’ll be glad you did!
PARENT/TEACHER/STUDENT CONFERENCES: Spring conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to give students and parents the opportunity to meet with teachers about students’ progress. All parents are invited to attend, but parents of students with a D or F in in a class or classes as of March 14, the date of the conferences, are required to attend. As we return from Mission Week, teachers will have updated grades as of March 4 and again March 14. We recommend that you check your daughter’s grades on PowerSchool between now and Thursday, March 14, in order to make plans to attend. No appointment is necessary. If you have any questions that cannot be addressed at Parent/Teacher/Student conferences, please contact your daughter’s dean – JUDY FIELDHOUSE (students whose last names begin with A-K) or THERESA SCHUHMANN (students whose last names begin with L-M).
2019-2020 SCHOOL CALENDAR: We are in the process of working on the 2019-2020 school calendar. Although we have not finalized the calendar, we recognize that our families may need general calendar information in advance. In order to help with this need, the tentative key calendar dates for 2019-2020 are posted on our website through this link: IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2019-2020 SCHOOL CALENDAR
COMPASSION CONNECTIONS: Compassion truly inspires at Assumption this season! Through our Compassion Connections program, each of our nine AHS families is now collecting needed items to support nine different nonprofit agencies. We kicked-off this year’s Lenten collection today. Your daughter has been asked to bring in a specific item as her donation in homeroom. We’d love for you to consider donating as well. Just ask your daughter what items her homeroom is collecting and send in any you want to contribute with her between now and Spring Break. Also, students will be delivering these items to these agencies sometime in April. If you can help transport items, please tell your daughter to share this information in her homeroom. Thanks for helping us help so many others!

Music will be provided by the band Famous on Friday. Hope to see you there!
SUMMER ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES: Academic opportunities for the summer have been UPDATED. You can find these on our guidance department page by clicking here: ACADEMIC SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES 2019. There are numerous opportunities available with many costing less than $1,000. Programs are grouped according to areas of interest like STEM or Creative Arts/Design or General Summer Pre-College Programs, etc. Applications are due in March and require the assistance of guidance for transcript releases, recommendations, and other documentation. Please contact LEIGH JACKSON or KIM HABICH with any questions.
